Overview

The Information Management and Technology Division (IMD) within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), is seeking the provision of an ICT labour-hire resource to fill the role of (Test Analyst).

DFAT currently utilises the SFIA global skills and competency framework to provide a common standard for describing base role requirements and level classifications. Only candidates that meet the specified relevant Skill Level/s should be put forward for consideration.

The applicable SFIA role description/skill level is as follows:

Category: Development and Implementation

Subcategory: Systems Development

Skill: Testing (TEST)

Level: 5

Testing Level 5 includes, but is not limited to, the following general activities:

  • Plans and drives testing activities across all stages and iterations of product, systems and service development.
  • Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution. Adopts and adapts appropriate testing methods, automated tools and techniques to solve problems in tools and testing approaches.
  • Measures and monitors applications of standards for testing. Assesses risks and takes preventative action.
  • Identifies improvements and contributes to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for testing.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications relevant to testing e.g. ISTQB certified test, Foundation Level and/or Foundation level certification in ITIL.

Experience in Cloud environments in DevOps.

Experience in testing on Salesforce platform, web services.

Experience with automation of scripting and testing.

Experience in creating test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non- functional requirements.

Ability to report on system quality, collect metrics on test cases and review test results.

Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including an ability to prepare high level reports.

Capacity to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities to achieve high quality outcomes.

Conforming to agreed process standards, industry-specific regulations and data protection legislation

Desirable Criteria

Promoting productivity through test automation, tools and best practices.

Developing scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks.
