The posting

Why Join Us? Seven Media Group (SMG) is one of Australia’s most prominent media companies, with a market-leading presence across television, audio, publishing and digital. Every day, millions of Australians turn to us for the news they rely on, the sport they love, the entertainment they enjoy and the stories that bring communities together. SMG is home to some of Australia's most trusted and loved brands including the Seven Network, the Hit and Triple M radio networks and Australia’s number one podcast network, LiSTNR. About the role Join the team behind Triple M’s iconic Rush Hour program, helping bring one of Australia’s most listened-to drive shows to life both on-air and behind the scenes. The Panel Operator & Operations Assistant is a dual role that supports the station’s Content team both on and off air. As Panel Operator, you will liaise with on-air talent and the producers to execute music schedules and put content and shows to air in line with the station’s strategy, ensuring fresh, up-to-date and creative ideas are integrated into the show, and that all on-air content meets risk assessment guidelines and on-air codes before going live. As Operations Assistant, you will work with the Content Director (CD), Assistant Content Director (ACD) and the product team to maintain and execute station objectives and follow up on agreed strategic and tactical planning. You will also support the management of weekend content, network shows, casual panel operators and rosters. This role is based in Sydney. What you’ll do

Panel and broadcast all scheduled content, including music, commercials and show segments, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with station strategy. Ensure on-air and pre-recorded content meets risk assessment guidelines and broadcast codes, obtain required approvals, flag potential risks and report missed commercials. Support the Content Director in executing content, social media, advertising and promotional strategies, liaising with network teams and monitoring competitors and market trends. Manage weekend content and network shows, coordinate programming changes across departments and fulfil rostered on-call duties. Recruit, train, support and provide feedback to casual Panel Operators, prepare station rosters within budget and foster a positive team environment. Coordinate imaging, promotions and client commitments; prepare on-air and online content, conduct music and artist research, and assist with production, voiceovers and audio editing. Participate in content meetings, act on feedback, attend station and client events, maintain confidentiality and assist with other duties as directed, including organising guests, phoning listeners and answering phones.

What you’ll need

Relevant experience in a radio or broadcast operations environment, with a results-driven and delivery-focused approach. Working knowledge of production systems, including ProTools and Adobe Audition, and on-air systems, including Zetta, Vox Pro, the phone box and the panel. An understanding of, and ability to work in accordance with, the Radio Broadcasting Codes of Decency. An understanding of legal compliance issues with regard to contests, including the assessment of risk around legal and PR outcomes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a self-motivated member of the Content team with the Product Team, ACD/MD and CD. Ability to produce engaging content with appropriate format, style and pace, and to relate content decisions to their impact on the market, customers and key audiences. Strong organisational skills to manage rosters, weekend content and casual panel operators, balancing live panel operation with operations support.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
