At Enbridge, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy while driving financial excellence and innovation. We are seeking a Systems Controller to join our Gas Control team in Houston, Texas — a safety-critical, front-line role at the heart of our natural gas transmission operations.

In this position, you will work a rotating 12-hour shift, responsible for monitoring and controlling the real-time operation of compressor stations, pipeline facilities, measuring and regulating stations, and other facilities to optimally receive and deliver varying volumes of gas for pipeline customers.

This is your opportunity to build a foundational career in pipeline operations with a company that prioritizes safety, reliability, and the people behind both. Apply today!

What You Will Do:

  • Implement daily planned pipeline activities, optimize system performance through efficient use of horsepower and pipeline facilities, and proactively communicate changes to field personnel, teammates, and gas control management.
  • Coordinate activities between field and gas control personnel during planned or unplanned pipeline outages, communicating with field teams and management to address any issues that arise.
  • Use Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to monitor pressures, pack levels, flow data, alarms, gas quality, and other operational data — and to operate compressor stations, regulators, meter flow and pressure set points, ensuring timely flow and pressure requirements and limiting pipelines to maximum operating pressure at all times.
  • Serve as front-line response to emergency or abnormal conditions, and apprise management of situations of concern — such as sudden changes in demand or loss of compression — to support timely and cost-efficient decision-making.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements, including those set by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Who You Are:

  • Related technical diploma and minimal direct experience
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills within a team environment
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective negotiation skills for interfacing with internal and external customers

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Working Conditions:

  • Control Centre environment.
  • This is a dynamic, high-pressure work environment requiring the identification and resolution of critical operational problems within extremely short time constraints. The ability to remain calm and focused during an emergency is essential.
  • The initial work schedule provides for 40 hours per week (day or night shift), developing into a rotating 12-hour shift. Holiday and overtime work may be required.
  • Noise levels in the environment are low.

Benefits:

  • A flexible benefits program that allows each employee to select the level of coverage needed for their family in the areas of health, dental, insurance, and disability.
  • A paid maternity and parental leave benefit that offers up to 20 weeks of paid leave for birth-giving parents and up to 12 weeks for other eligible parents, providing flexibility and support during this important life event.
  • Valuable retirement savings plans, including a savings plan with company stock as an investment option.
  • Paid time off/vacation/sick, plus paid personal days off (depending on location), and paid holidays.
  • An Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • A Wellness Program, which focuses on supporting healthier employees by providing tools, resources, and opportunities to improve physical, mental, social, and financial well-being.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
