The posting

Spellbook is the most comprehensive AI copilot for transactional lawyers. It works directly inside Microsoft Word to help legal teams draft, review, and negotiate contracts up to 10x faster and with greater precision. The company recently raised $50 million in Series B funding, led by Keith Rabois at Khosla Ventures, bringing its total funding to more than $80 million.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring our first-ever Social Media Lead to build Spellbook's social presence from the ground up — voice, calendar, and strategy. You'll have full ownership of the function from day one, working closely with Marketing and our executive team to turn what we're building and shipping into stories worth sharing. This is a rare opportunity to shape a brand's entire social identity from scratch, rather than inherit someone else's playbook.

RESPONSIBILITIES

OWNING THE CALENDAR:

- Own Spellbook's social media calendar end-to-end across every platform we show up on, from ideation through scheduling and publishing.

- Balance a steady drumbeat of day-to-day content with a longer-term content strategy tied to company milestones, product launches, and pipeline goals.

COMMUNITY & ENGAGEMENT:

- Monitor and respond to comments, mentions, and DMs in a timely, on-brand way — social is a two-way conversation, not just a broadcast channel.

- Build relationships with the legal tech community, customers, and relevant creators/journalists who help amplify our reach.

VOICE & STORYTELLING:

- Define and protect Spellbook's voice and visual identity across every social channel, keeping it consistent with the broader brand.

- Partner with Marketing, Product, and our executive team to turn company news, product launches, and thought leadership into content that actually gets shared, including ghostwriting and editorial support for executive posts.

MEASUREMENT & GROWTH:

- Build a social strategy grounded in what actually drives reach and engagement — spotting and moving fast on trends, cultural moments, and platform mechanics rather than posting on autopilot.

- Track performance against clear metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, share of voice) and use that data to keep improving the strategy.

- Other responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- You have a track record of growing a brand's organic social reach and engagement, and you can point to specific numbers and outcomes, not just activity.

- You have run social media for a B2B SaaS company and understand how to make technical, less-visual products feel compelling on social.

- You can own a social calendar entirely on your own — from quarterly strategy down to writing the caption and hitting publish.

- You think like a strategist and execute like an operator; you're equally comfortable planning a quarter of content and turning around a timely post the same day.

- You have a sharp, provable sense for what makes content spread, not just what looks nice.

- You are a strong writer who adapts tone across platforms while keeping a consistent brand voice.

- You're comfortable with social management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or native platform analytics) and can turn that data into a clear read on what's working.

NICE TO HAVES

- Experience in legal tech or another compliance-heavy, trust-driven B2B industry.

- Experience building a social function from scratch as the first social hire, rather than joining an established team.

- You've built real reach on a personal or side social account of your own — for us, a side project that shows you can experiment, iterate, and grow an audience organically carries just as much weight as professional experience.

WHY JOIN SPELLBOOK?

- Embrace autonomy and accountability in a flexible work environment; we focus on outcomes and empower you to determine how to get the job done

- Access our company-paid group benefits for you and your family, with $1,000 towards mental health support

- Disconnect during our holiday closure and take advantage of our generous time off policies throughout the year

- Enjoy monthly paid meals, an annual wellness allowance to support your well-being and parental leave top-ups as your family grows

- Secure your stake in our success; you’ll receive competitive stock option grants as a pivotal early employee

INCLUSIVE HIRING AT SPELLBOOK

We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive candidate experience. Should you require any accommodation whatsoever during the interview process, please inform us without any hesitation. Spellbook is dedicated to ensuring equal treatment and opportunity in all phases of recruitment, selection, and employment, in compliance with employment law. We do not discriminate based on gender, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, or any other protected category. Spellbook is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, fostering a culture of inclusivity and maintaining a work environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN RECRUITMENT

Spellbook uses artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly to support administrative and efficiency-focused aspects of our recruitment process. This includes activities such as drafting job descriptions, generating interview questions, note-taking and recordings, and supporting sourcing and scheduling workflows. All candidate evaluations, interviews, and hiring decisions are made by members of the Spellbook team. While AI tools may assist with screening and assessment, they do not replace human judgment in selection decisions. Our use of AI is intended to streamline routine tasks, improve consistency, and enhance the overall candidate experience. We are committed to upholding principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in all hiring activities. Spellbook regularly reviews its recruitment practices to mitigate bias and to ensure alignment with applicable laws and evolving best practices.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Spellbook uses industry benchmark data to establish compensation bands for all roles. The salary range listed for a position reflects the expected total wage range for the role—including base salary and on-target commissions, where applicable—and may span multiple career levels. Final compensation is determined during the interview process based on factors such as experience, skills, scope, and role level. In addition to base salary and applicable commissions, total rewards may include equity, health and wellness benefits, and other company programs. Full details will be shared during the interview process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
