ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Solutions Engineer at Spellbook, you'll be the technical backbone of our sales organization. Partnering closely with our Account Executives and Post-Sales Legal Solutions team, you'll ensure prospects and customers have a frictionless experience, from first demo through trial to close, and post-close setup. You'll own the technical side of the buying journey: understanding enterprise customer requirements, delivering demos and trials that address them, answering product and technical questions with confidence, guiding prospects through setup, and giving prospective customers the assurance that Spellbook fits securely into their practice. This role is fully remote and open to candidates located in the United States or Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Partner with Account Executives to support prospects throughout their evaluation, serving as the technical trusted advisor across the sales cycle.

- Understand enterprise customer requirements and use them to plan and deliver successful demos and trials.

- Guide prospects through self-service setup steps and handle basic user and integration provisioning so trials start smoothly.

- Field product, technical, security, and data privacy questions from prospects and customers, bringing in internal teams when needed.

- Prepare demo and trial environments, including uploading sample agreements tailored to the prospect's use cases.

- Facilitate document and data migrations for new and prospective customers in partnership with internal teams.

- Triage bugs and functionality issues affecting in-trial accounts, escalating to Engineering and other internal teams when needed and owning issues through resolution.

- Lead technical demonstrations and proofs of concept that address prospects' unique business objectives.

- Work cross-functionally to complete RFPs and questionnaires as part of the sales cycle.

- Create and maintain technical content and documentation so prospects and customers are successful using Spellbook.

- Become a product expert across the Spellbook platform and understand the competitor landscape.

- Perform any additional tasks assigned by management that contribute to the improvement of the sales team or achievement of revenue goals, including but not limited to attending events/conferences or hosting internal training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of experience in a solutions engineering, sales engineering, technical support, or similar customer-facing technical role, ideally in SaaS or B2B environments.

- Familiarity with security and data privacy frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, PIPEDA) and the ability to articulate their business benefits.

- Experience troubleshooting application setup, account setup, and basic user provisioning issues.

- Experience configuring software integrations for customer trials or onboarding.

- Able to clearly articulate technical concepts and business benefits to both technical and non-technical audiences, including lawyers and IT teams.

- Strong ability to understand customer pain points and position solutions that meet their needs.

- A self-starter with a bias towards action, energized by a fast-paced environment and able to thrive in an unstructured one.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team.

- Proficient with tools like HubSpot, or equivalent, for tracking and managing customer interactions.

- Must be legally entitled to work in the United States or Canada.

NICE TO HAVES

- Experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in fast-paced settings.

- Familiarity with the legal tech space, understanding its unique challenges and opportunities.

- Previous experience in a high-growth scaling tech company, showcasing your ability to navigate rapid change and drive results.

- Experience delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations to business and technical stakeholders.

- Experience deploying or administering Microsoft 365 / Word add-in environments.

- Comfort using AI tools responsibly to support tasks such as research, drafting, or data review.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN RECRUITMENT

Spellbook uses artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly to support administrative and efficiency-focused aspects of our recruitment process. This includes activities such as drafting job descriptions, generating interview questions, note-taking and recordings, and supporting sourcing and scheduling workflows. All candidate evaluations, interviews, and hiring decisions are made by members of the Spellbook team. While AI tools may assist with screening and assessment, they do not replace human judgment in selection decisions. Our use of AI is intended to streamline routine tasks, improve consistency, and enhance the overall candidate experience. We are committed to upholding principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in all hiring activities. Spellbook regularly reviews its recruitment practices to mitigate bias and to ensure alignment with applicable laws and evolving best practices.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Spellbook uses industry benchmark data to establish compensation bands for all roles. The salary range listed for a position reflects the expected total wage range for the role—including base salary and on-target commissions, where applicable—and may span multiple career levels. Final compensation is determined during the interview process based on factors such as experience, skills, scope, and role level. In addition to base salary and applicable commissions, total rewards may include equity, health and wellness benefits, and other company programs. Full details will be shared during the interview process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
