Position: Sound & Production Team Member Reports To: Events Supervisor and Director, Programming & Events Last Updated: October 2026 Qualifications: A full-time or part time day time student at Sheridan College for all academic years with a GPA of at least 2.5. *See below for further qualifications Location: Hiring at Oakville Camps. Some travel to HMC and Davis is required. Pay Rate: $18.22/Hour Term: October 2026-April 30th 2027 Commitments: 10 Hours per week depending on number Events and Engagements

You’ll be planning and executing technical requirements for SU events and making sure that everything runs as pitch-perfect as ever. As a Sound and Production Team Member, you’ll get first-hand experience on what it takes to run a successful event by working closely with our Director, Programming & Events SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the sound and production execution of Welcome Week events, monthly Student Life programming, and supporting catering-related events as needed. Set up and take down of all events
Lead the execution of technical production requirements for events taking place on SSU property. Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment to ensure reliability and operational readiness. Continuously expand knowledge of production systems and support all facets of event production within the SSU Reviewing event dockets and venue maps to support sounds and production needs. Setting up DJ Equipment, Open Mic floor plans, basic Audio/Visual for all SSU Student Centre’s
Work day/night events, off-campus events, small tech engagements. Represent SSU and act professionally in accordance with our SSU Corporate Policies and Sheridan College’s Policies Ensuring we are maintaining a clean and safe work place Motivate, encourage, and support event team members, coordinators, and any volunteers Represent the students of Sheridan College in all matters as required and report as necessary; Any other duties as assigned

Excellent communication skills Able to multi-task Must have proper closed toe shoes for all shifts Flexible to work outside of normal business hours Able to lift event set up material; up to 50 Outgoing and positive Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Confident, enthusiastic and approachable Open-minded and motivated to learn new things Great listening skills Ability to problem solve
