The posting

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America’s boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country’s biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

Are you a proven sales enablement leader who knows how to turn firsthand selling experience into stronger capabilities across an entire team? As the Sales Enablement Director, you will build and build a comprehensive enablement strategy for our Development team, accelerating productivity, strengthening fundraising capabilities, and creating scalable onboarding and continuous learning programs that help our teams build meaningful, long-term partnerships.

Reporting to the Head of Development Operations and leading the Development Enablement team, you will manage the Content Manager and Devo Compass Owner while helping shape the future structure of the enablement function. You will work closely with Development leadership, Partnership Advisor and Partnership Success Manager supervisors, content owners, Marketing, IT, and Development Operations. The ideal candidate combines significant experience in complex, consultative sales with a demonstrated ability to build learning programs, coach experienced sellers, and drive measurable performance improvements.

Location: Arlington, VA

How You Will Contribute

  • Build and lead a comprehensive sales enablement strategy and capability framework across four pillars: Foundational Knowledge, Fundraising Strategies, Fundraising Ability, and Role Execution.
  • Transform onboarding and accelerate productivity by building structured, role-specific learning pathways that prepare employees for independent portfolio work, with clear proficiency milestones and supervisor verification at each stage.
  • Lead ever-boarding and continuous development through foundational refresh, fundraising ability deepening, and mastery and peer coaching.
  • Strengthen complex, relationship-based selling and fundraising capabilities, including discovery, qualification, strategic relationship development, high-value asks, negotiation, and long-term partnership stewardship.
  • Equip frontline supervisors to coach effectively by diagnosing individual and organizational capability gaps, reinforcing skill development, and creating practical tools that improve performance.
  • Own the Development Knowledge Hub today and Devo intranet once built, ensuring employees can easily access current fundraising strategies, tools, learning resources, and practical guidance.
  • Establish and manage content governance, including content refresh cycles, content-owner intake service-level agreements, publishing standards, and clear accountability for keeping enablement resources current.
  • Establish measurable standards of success and report onboarding completion, proficiency, application, and other enablement effectiveness metrics quarterly to Development leadership.
  • Lead and develop the enablement team, including the Content Manager and Devo intranet owner, while assessing team structure, future capabilities, and resource needs.
  • Partner across Development, Marketing, IT, Development Operations, and other stakeholders to align enablement programs with business needs, establish consistent operating cadences, and hold partners accountable to deadlines and deliverables.

What You Will Bring

  • Significant firsthand experience in complex B2B sales, consultative solutions selling, strategic account management, major gifts fundraising or another relationship-driven sales environment, including experience carrying a 7-8 figure portfolio or managing professionals responsible for portfolios of that scale.
  • Approximately 8+ years of sales enablement experience, including building and leading onboarding, training, coaching, and continuous learning programs that improve sales productivity and time-to-productivity.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing comprehensive sales enablement programs that improve productivity, not simply facilitating training or delivering existing curriculum.
  • Deep understanding of complex, consultative selling involving sophisticated decision-makers, intangible value propositions, lengthy cultivation cycles, multiple stakeholders, significant financial commitments, and customized solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach experienced sales professionals, diagnose capability gaps, and equip frontline supervisors to reinforce skills and improve performance.
  • Experience building scalable onboarding programs, sales playbooks, learning frameworks, proficiency standards, and performance measurement systems from the ground up.
  • Fluency with learning management systems (LMS), Salesforce, and intranet publishing, either directly or through close partnership with IT and Development Operations.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and program-management capabilities, including the ability to influence senior leaders, establish operating cadences, and hold stakeholders accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
  • A builder’s mindset, strong business judgment, and the ability to translate organizational priorities into practical learning experiences that improve performance.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.

Standout Candidates Will Bring

  • Experience selling complex services, professional services, advisory solutions, strategic partnerships, or other intangible offerings to senior executives, business owners, or high-value clients.
  • Experience in philanthropy, major gifts fundraising, wealth management, or high-net-worth relationship development.
  • A track record of materially reducing ramp time, improving seller proficiency, or demonstrating measurable performance gains through enablement programs.
  • Experience building an enablement function, capability framework, or learning ecosystem in a growing or evolving organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
