We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

Stand Together's Security team seeks an experienced Security Manager to support the safety and security of its Washington, DC-based facility, events, personnel, and operations. This role implements comprehensive security measures, conducts risk assessments, coordinates executive protection, and ensures the effective execution of facility and event security programs. The ideal candidate brings strong protective services experience, sound judgment, and the ability to proactively identify risks and implement practical security solutions.

As a key representative of the Security team, this individual will build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and government officials. Success in this role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, discretion, and a service-oriented approach to security.

This is a full-time, in-person position based at the Freedom Embassy in Washington, DC. Approximately 15% travel is expected in support of organizational initiatives and events.

How You Will Contribute

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for facilities, personnel, executives, and on-site and off-site events to ensure safe and secure operations.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, identify potential vulnerabilities, and implement proactive mitigation strategies to protect personnel, facilities, and organizational assets.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate relevant risk and threat intelligence to support informed security decisions and preparedness.
  • Oversee physical security operations, including facility access control, perimeter security, surveillance systems, and other security technologies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute security operations for organizational events, executive engagements, and other high-profile activities.
  • Coordinate with federal and local law enforcement agencies, government officials, and private security partners to ensure appropriate security support and effective incident response.
  • Serve as a trusted security resource for internal stakeholders, providing responsive, professional support while strengthening security awareness and preparedness across the organization.
  • Manage security vendor relationships, oversee service delivery, and conduct quality assurance to maintain high standards of performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Respond to security incidents and emergencies, exercising sound judgment and coordinating appropriate response and resolution efforts.
  • Travel as needed to support organizational initiatives, events, and security operations.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in executive protection, military service, law enforcement, federal protective services, or a comparable security-related field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting security risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, executive protection practices, and the ability to translate security requirements into practical, actionable plans.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, or executing security operations in dynamic environments, including facilities, events, or high-profile engagements.
  • Familiarity with modern security technologies, including access control, surveillance, and other physical security systems.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to evolving security needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a polished professional presence and the ability to engage confidently with executives, government officials, and diverse stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment, with a personable, service-oriented approach to building trust and delivering a high level of security support.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure, navigate sensitive situations, and make informed decisions in fast-paced or high-stakes environments.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.
  • Ability to stand and remain on foot for extended periods while supporting security operations, events, and facility activities.
  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with security operations, including responding to incidents and providing on-site support as needed.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful periods.

Standout Candidates Will Bring

  • Experience providing executive protection or security support for senior executives, high-profile individuals, or distinguished guests.
  • Background in corporate security, executive services, or complex operational environments requiring a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience supporting nonprofit organizations, government agencies, or environments involving frequent interaction with public officials and external dignitaries.
  • A strong customer-service mindset, with experience delivering discreet, high-touch security support while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
