The posting

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America’s boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country’s biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

Role Summary

You are passionate about designing learning experiences that help social sector leaders and staff grow, apply new ideas, and strengthen their impact. Your colleagues describe you as a builder, a creative problem solver, and a committed lifelong learner. You bring deep expertise in adult learning and are energized by turning complex ideas into engaging online courses, virtual learning experiences, and practical resources that meet real learner needs.

You have an eye for what makes learning stick. You understand how adults learn, how to translate learning objectives into compelling experiences, and how to design for application and transformation. You are equally comfortable developing a self-paced digital course, designing an engaging live virtual learning experience, creating a practical tool or resource, or helping a subject matter expert turn their knowledge into something learners can readily understand and use.

Our community is growing, and so is the impact of our work to move toward a society where every person is empowered. At Stand Together Foundation, we advance this vision by building and stewarding a community of influential nonprofit leaders and staff who address some of the biggest challenges facing our communities with an empowerment approach to how they measure, manage, and serve. We are building one of the largest communities of social entrepreneurs and changemakers in the country, and this role will be instrumental in creating the resources and learning experiences that empower them to scale their impact.

As our Sr. Learning Manager, Digital Learning & Content, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of digital and virtual learning across our products and platforms. You will create online courses, virtual programs, learning resources, and other scalable products, many of which will live within our LMS, Paradigm (built on the Circle platform). Working across teams, you will bring together ideas, subject-matter expertise, learner insights, and content to ensure every learning experience is anchored in our vision and responsive to customer needs. You will help make Paradigm a rich and useful learning environment by ensuring the content and experiences available are engaging, relevant, and designed to help learners put ideas into practice and transform themselves, their organizations, and ultimately, our communities.

Remote candidates will be considered on a case by case basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of high-quality learning experiences across digital, virtual, and blended formats.
  • Apply adult learning principles to translate learning objectives into engaging, application-oriented experiences.
  • Design and develop asynchronous online courses, facilitated virtual learning experiences, and other digital learning products.
  • Guide internal stakeholders and subject matter experts through the instructional design process, helping clarify audience needs, learning outcomes, and effective learning approaches.
  • Facilitate virtual learning experiences and continually improve approaches to online engagement and learning.
  • Supervise, coach, and/or mentor learning designers, facilitators, coordinators, or creative contributors.
  • Lead the development of high-priority learning products, including online courses, virtual learning experiences, written resources, toolkits, guides, and platform-based learning assets.
  • Translate complex concepts and subject-matter expertise into clear, compelling, and accessible learning content.
  • Develop and curate content systems that increase quality, relevance, usability, and learner engagement while enabling efficient development and reuse.
  • Partner across teams to source, shape, and package ideas into scalable products that support broader learnerjourneys.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve existing products based on learner needs, feedback, and evidence about what is helping people learn and apply ideas.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on our Paradigm strategy and platform management to translate priorities and learner needs into effective learning products.
  • Experiment with new digital learning approaches that increase engagement, application, and value for learners.

What Success Looks Like

  • Learning experiences are engaging, high quality, and grounded in strong adult learning practices.
  • Learners demonstrate increased understanding, confidence, and application of the ideas and principles explored through our learning products.

  • Learner insights, feedback, and engagement data are routinely used to improve products and inform future development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in instructional design, adult learning, learning and development, digital learning, curriculum development, or related fields.
  • Experience working with and/or designing learning opportunities for nonprofit leaders and staff.
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning theory and demonstrated ability to apply it in practice.
  • Significant experience designing and developing asynchronous online courses and digital learning experiences.
  • Experience designing and facilitating engaging virtual learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn complex concepts into clear, compelling, and practical learning content.
  • Experience creating a range of learning products, including courses, resources, guides, toolkits, and other digital assets.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
