Your Opportunity
Our Global Mining team has a need for an Engineering Intern based out of our office in Chandler, AZ. You would work within our infrastructure engineering team in support of various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
- Understanding and working per the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture. - Working in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its Clients.
- Developing an understanding of applicable safety codes, regulations and guidelines.
Engineering and Design
- Contribution to the preparation of quality technical documents, mine designs, mine plans or financial models to Stantec Mining standards.
- Contribution to design and costing of the whole mining cycle.
- Working with a multi-discipline engineering and design team on a day-to-day basis.
- Participation in project meetings.
- Perform various office tasks as required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- An interest in acquiring mining specific experience in your discipline.
- Knowledge of a mine design/planning software such as Vulcan, Minesite, MinePlan, Carlson, Deswik etc. is an asset.
- You must be a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting.
Education and Experience
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
