The posting

About the Company

A biotechnology company specializing in bacteriophage-based solutions to address bacterial challenges across aquaculture, animal health, and food safety.

The company develops innovative biological solutions using bacteriophage technology, microbiology, and scientific research to combat bacterial infections, antimicrobial resistance, and food contamination.

Working closely with farms, research teams, and industry partners, the company focuses on translating scientific innovation into practical, sustainable solutions that improve animal health, production efficiency, and food safety.

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Specialist (Aquaculture & Shrimp Solutions) to drive technical initiatives, develop practical solutions, and support market expansion within the aquaculture industry, with a primary focus on shrimp farming.

This role goes beyond traditional technical sales support. You will proactively identify farm challenges, investigate shrimp diseases, design technical solutions, lead field trials, and collaborate with R&D and commercial teams to validate product performance under real farming conditions.

The position requires a combination of aquaculture expertise, problem-solving abilities, field experience, and commercial understanding to improve product effectiveness and support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Aquaculture Technical Expertise: Act as a trusted technical partner to shrimp farmers, hatcheries, farm managers, distributors, and industry stakeholders
  • Provide technical consultation, product training, and practical solutions
  • Shrimp Farming & Production: Understand shrimp production cycles, including hatchery, nursery, grow-out, harvest, and processing. Evaluate water quality, feed management, biosecurity, stocking density, survival rates, FCR, and overall farm performance
  • Shrimp Health & Disease Management: Investigate bacterial diseases and shrimp health challenges, particularly Vibrio spp., AHPND/EMS, vibriosis, white feces-related problems, and other emerging bacterial infections
  • Farm Problem Diagnosis: Conduct farm visits, assess disease patterns, analyze laboratory results and production data, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Technical Solution Development: Design practical solutions involving product applications, disease prevention, pathogen monitoring, microbial management, and farm management improvements
  • Field Trials & Validation: Plan and execute field trials, establish evaluation protocols, monitor KPIs, and analyze results such as survival rate, mortality, ADG, FCR, pathogen load, production cost, and ROI
  • Customer & Market Insights: Gather farmer feedback, understand product adoption challenges, identify unmet needs, and recommend improvements to product applications, protocols, and technical services
  • Technical Project Development: Proactively identify emerging disease challenges and market opportunities, initiate technical projects, and develop validated solutions that support commercial expansion
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and laboratory teams to translate field insights into product development, customer strategies, technical content, and market opportunities
  • Product Performance & Market Intelligence: Monitor product effectiveness across different farming systems and markets while tracking industry trends, emerging diseases, competitor solutions, and regulatory developments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Aquatic Animal Health, Veterinary Medicine, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Animal Science, Feed/Nutrition, Life Sciences, or related fields. Equivalent practical experience is also considered
  • Practical experience or strong technical knowledge in aquaculture, particularly shrimp farming, shrimp health, or aquatic animal disease management
  • Understanding of shrimp diseases, particularly Vibrio spp., AHPND/EMS, and other bacterial challenges is highly advantageous
  • Experience in aquaculture feed additives, hatchery operations, farm technical services, microbiology, water quality management, biosecurity, or field trials is an advantage
  • Ability to investigate farm problems, interpret technical information, and translate findings into practical solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in scientific research and data-driven decision-making
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to initiate projects, coordinate stakeholders, and drive technical initiatives independently
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to farmers, customers, and commercial teams
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding customer needs, product adoption, and market opportunities
  • Willingness to travel for farm visits, field trials, customer meetings, and market-development activities
  • Direct shrimp-farming experience is highly valued
  • Experience in seafood processing, post-harvest pathogen control, or aquatic food safety is an advantage but not required

Language Proficiency

  • Fluent English
  • Thai preferred

Benefits

  • Group health insurance
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Working Conditions
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid
  • Travel: Farm visits, customer meetings, field trials, and market-development activities as required

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
