What we offer

This is an opportunity to make a visible impact on how sustainability decisions are made across Mattamy’s GTA business. As a key member of the Sustainability team, you will turn complex carbon and performance data into clear insights that influence projects, programs and business priorities across low-rise and multi-storey operations. You will have exposure to a broad range of teams, emerging technologies and innovative building initiatives, while building your expertise in sustainability analytics, reporting automation and program delivery within a growing area of the business.

Regular presence is required in both our Mississauga and Etobicoke offices and at project sites across the GTA. Time is generally split approximately 40% Mississauga, 40% Etobicoke, and 20% on site.

What you’ll do

  • Collect, validate and analyze sustainability data across GTA Division projects, helping maintain consistent and reliable metrics.
  • Coordinate GTA sustainability reporting processes and maintain and enhance dashboards, databases, scorecards and recurring reports, including automated workflows using Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI.
  • Support carbon forecasting and accounting with Finance; analyze operational and embodied carbon data, complete scenario modelling, and assess the carbon impacts of new products, technologies and development initiatives to identify potential reduction opportunities.
  • Apply data governance, quality-control and reporting protocols, and assist with annual sustainability reporting, carbon audits and data verification.
  • Coordinate assigned sustainability initiatives, track milestones and prepare updates for energy efficiency, electrification, airtightness, geothermal and low-carbon community programs.
  • Work with Construction, Development, Architecture, Procurement, Finance, Warranty, Sales & Marketing and Corporate Sustainability to gather data and support reviews and pilot programs.
  • Research EPDs, material sustainability information, emerging technologies, certifications, regulations and market trends; support competitor benchmarking, business case development and participation in industry working groups, research initiatives and innovation partnerships.
  • Take a lead role in delivering the Sustainability Capstone program for co-op students across the GTA, including coordinating program activities and supporting participant learning and development.
  • Support coordination with consultants, vendors, utilities and other external partners, and maintain reporting guides, training materials and data collection standards.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Building Science, Sustainability, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG or environmental reporting, building science, energy management, data analytics or a related area.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, dashboard development and data modelling, plus experience building reports and visualizations in Power BI or a similar platform.
  • Experience working with large datasets, completing statistical, trend and forecasting analyses, and following data governance and quality-control practices.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability metrics, carbon accounting, environmental reporting, operational and embodied carbon, EPDs, energy performance measures and sustainability certification programs.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain data and findings to stakeholders and collaborate effectively across functions.

Bonus points

  • Experience in residential development, homebuilding, construction, real estate or land development.
  • Experience developing carbon models, sustainability forecasts or corporate sustainability reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Tableau, VBA or other analytical tools.
  • LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, WELL AP, Envision, GHG Inventory Quantifier or a comparable sustainability credential.
  • Knowledge of geothermal systems, electrification strategies, energy modelling and utility programs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
