Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: Our Rotational Trainee Rotation Program is a structured, immersive training program designed to onboard and develop entry-level career professionals for permanent placement in frontline operational roles at Stevens Transport. Participants gain hands‑on experience across core operational departments, develop system and process proficiency, and build foundational skills required for success in transportation, logistics, and fleet operations.
PROGRAM SUMMARY
This program provides comprehensive exposure to Stevens’ frontline operations through a defined, instructor‑led and hands‑on rotational training model.
Program Duration: Approximately 14 weeks – subject to adjustment
Program Components:
- Classroom instruction, hands‑on system training, role‑play scenarios, and job shadowing
- Structured rotations across multiple operational departments
- Weekly knowledge checkpoints and performance feedback
- Formal sign‑off and competency validation at the completion of each rotation
- Safety and compliance training integrated throughout the program
Upon successful completion, participants are evaluated and considered for placement into permanent frontline roles based on business needs, demonstrated performance, and individual strengths.
ROTATIONAL STRUCTURE & FUNCTIONAL EXPOSURE
Participants will complete rotations in the following core operational areas:
Customer Success
- Load tracking and customer communication
- Appointment management, billing coordination, and service recovery
- Network balance support and repower sourcing
- Weekend coverage processes and handoff procedures
Driver Management
- Fleet utilization and service execution
- Driver communication, hours‑of‑service compliance, and safety coordination
- AS400 system navigation and operational reporting
- Problem resolution, escalation handling, and daily operational planning
Transportation Management (Planning)
- Load planning, utilization metrics, and market balancing
- PTA/ETA management and exception handling
- Yard operations coordination and trailer pool management
- Optimization tools and efficiency analysis
Safety & Compliance
- Safety culture, risk mitigation, and compliance fundamentals
- Driver onboarding support and coaching practices
- Hours‑of‑Service, qualification standards, and incident review processes
Rotations follow a defined training plan with instructor‑led sessions, hands‑on system work, and shadowing opportunities.
CAREER PATH & PLACEMENT
Graduates of the program are considered for placement into frontline operational roles such as Customer Success, Driver Management, or Planning positions based on performance, demonstrated competencies, and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in all assigned rotational training activities and schedules
- Learn and apply operational processes, policies, and systems (including AS400)
- Complete required classroom, hands‑on, role‑play, and shadowing sessions
- Demonstrate increasing proficiency in operational workflows and decision‑making
- Collaborate with trainers, managers, and cross‑functional teams
- Meet performance expectations and complete weekly knowledge checkpoints
- Adhere to all safety, compliance, and company standards
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and continuous learning
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Ability to learn complex systems, processes, and operational workflows
- Availability to work a structured, full‑time training schedule
- High aptitude for learning and growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, project‑based, or professional experience in transportation, logistics, operations, supply chain, business, or related fields
- Experience working in fast‑paced, operational, or customer‑facing environments
