Job Description

We are looking for an Installation/Upfit Technician to join our team! You will install, service, and repair Emergency Vehicle Equipment and Two-Way Radio Systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install Emergency Lighting, Prisoner Cages, Camera Systems, Consoles, Radios, etc...
  • Inspect and perform equipment repairs and replacements
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous Emergency Lighting and Radio Installation Experience a plus
  • Familiarity with 12volt vehicle electrical systems
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Perform Quality Work and Pride in Workmanship a must
  • Will train the right person

SMPU provides communications solutions and emergency vehicle upfits for our Public Safety partners throughout the Midwest. We also provide communications and safety solutions for private sector business customers.
