About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consulting & Engineering is seeking an Assistant Staff Water Resources Engineer with an interest in hydrology, hydraulics, flood modeling, and water resources engineering. We are looking for a recent or soon-to-be college graduate with a degree in civil, environmental, biological, or coastal engineering who is eager to learn and contribute to flood modeling, watershed planning, and water resources projects. Relevant coursework in hydrology and hydraulics is preferred, and exposure to GIS, R, or Python is a plus. Internship, co-op, or undergraduate research experience is also desirable.

This position will support the growth of SWCA’s ecological restoration practice and watershed planning projects throughout the United States. The position will be based in Raleigh, NC, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, provided the employee is within driving distance of Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Jacksonville, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; or Denver, CO. Occasional travel to project sites for field assessments, data collection, and client meetings is required, approximately 5% of the time.

This is a full-time, regular position with benefits and an hourly, non-exempt classification.

Recent college graduates and candidates graduating soon are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews may be scheduled as qualified candidates are identified. This position may close without prior notice once a strong candidate pool is established.

  • Assists with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental science and engineering principles into project designs. Contributes to team discussions and supports project planning activities.
  • Engages in professional development activities to build expertise in restoration engineering principles and tools. Stays informed about industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to assigned projects.
  • Follows applicable federal, Tribal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, and specifications.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Additional Job-Specific Responsibilities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
