Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall commissioning and startup strategy, execution logic and work schedules, including system and subsystem priorities from MC through RFSU.
  • Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup and turnover deliverables in alignment with contract milestones, project budget, quality expectations and schedule.
  • Oversee development of PC&C procedures, operating procedures and maintenance procedures for assigned facilities and systems.
  • Ensure PC&C personnel participate in P&ID, HAZOP and model reviews to identify SIMOPS, operability, maintainability and startup issues.
  • Implement the completions database, completion philosophy and supporting team processes to track readiness and project handover.
  • Verify that commissioning, startup and two-year spare parts are specified, purchased, received, inventoried and available when needed.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction during regular status meetings to resolve interfaces, constraints and turnover priorities.
  • Monitor plant performance and economics during commissioning and startup, identifying opportunities to optimize throughput, chemicals, consumables and costs.

Leadership / Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the PC&C team, including site commissioning and startup personnel, and coordinate appropriate logistics and resources.
  • Plan workforce needs, personnel selection, training, performance evaluation and shift arrangements for safe and effective execution.
  • Develop the project training plan in alignment with the Company’s operations and maintenance training objectives; conduct readiness and training audits.
  • Liaise with the Company Commissioning Coordinator throughout engineering, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Maintain effective communication with Company and Contractor operations teams, Engineering, Construction, fabrication yards, site QA/QC and vendors.
  • Establish work priorities and ensure operability and maintainability requirements are addressed throughout project phases and facility areas.

Compliance / Operational Responsibilities

  • Implement project operational, administrative, cost-control and loss-prevention policies and procedures.
  • Promote compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards, applicable legislation and plant procedures.
  • Implement process safety management requirements for process safety information, hazard analysis, training, contractor compliance, plant integrity, permits, emergency response, incident investigations and audits.
  • At site, exercise assigned contractor work-permit signatory responsibilities and ensure field PC&C work follows approved procedures.
  • Support safe handover and completion of all systems with clear documentation and verified operational readiness.

  • Minimum ten (10) years of project/field-services experience, preferably in oil and gas, and a minimum five (5) years in plant operations.
  • At least 10–15 years of plant operations or startup experience, as specified in the source JD.
  • Experience with completions database systems such as EasyPlant, Zenator, ICAPS or WinPCS.
  • Understanding of applicable project standards governing industrial-plant commissioning, completion and startup.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and contractors and support commissioning, startup and unit optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to relocate for project field assignments within the country or internationally.

  • Work-permit controls, field execution, operations readiness, training and shift organization.
  • Cross-functional coordination with project leadership, site teams, fabrication yards, vendors and engineering.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
