The role provides planning, monitoring, control, schedule analysis, and reporting support for projects and proposals, with a primary focus on home-office EPC activities and small engineering-services scopes.

The position works closely with the Head of Planning & Scheduling Department or the Project Planning and Scheduling lead, project and proposal teams, clients, partners, vendors, and subcontractors. The role may also supervise or train less-experienced colleagues, primarily on small and medium-size projects.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Schedule Development

• Develop and maintain schedules that are compliant with the selected project execution strategy.

• Define and optimize the resources required across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation activities, as applicable.

• Develop the project summary timeline and support definition of the Project Breakdown Structure.

• Establish and maintain planning and scheduling methods, procedures, time schedules, physical-progress rules, dashboards, and reporting requirements.

• Coordinate with project stakeholders to integrate relevant planning inputs and maintain schedule consistency.

Monitoring, Control, and Forecasting

• Update schedules, monitor project status, and control progress against the approved baseline and contractual milestones.

• Assess schedule performance, identify deviations from standards or plans, and propose corrective actions.

• Prepare reliable forecasts for completion dates, durations, and resource requirements.

• Increase project-team awareness of key milestones, main durations, interfaces, and critical paths.

• Support client review and approval of the schedule baseline, reported progress, and milestone achievement.

Risk, Change, and Reporting

• Plan activities to mitigate schedule risks and support cost-efficient execution.

• Perform schedule risk analysis, where required, and communicate schedule exposure and mitigation actions.

• Estimate schedule impacts linked to changes and claims and contribute to Extension of Time analyses in the event of client-caused delay.

• Prepare clear, consistent schedule data, KPI reporting, dashboards, and management information.

• Provide project feedback and lessons learned to improve planning and scheduling methods and contribute to departmental statistics.

Team Support

• Provide planning and scheduling guidance to project and proposal teams.

• May supervise, coach, or train less-experienced colleagues on small and medium-size projects.

Role Dimensions and Key Interactions

Role Dimensions

• Works primarily on home-office activities for full EPC onshore or offshore contract scopes.

• Performs planning, monitoring, and control activities and may lead planning and scheduling for small engineering-services contracts, including conceptual and basic engineering scopes.

• Supports multiple stakeholders in a multidisciplinary, project-oriented environment.

Key Interactions

• Internal: Planning team and Project or Proposal team members.

• External: Clients, partners, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Moderate experience in project execution, planning, scheduling, or project controls (3 to 5 years)

• Good working knowledge of scheduling software, including Primavera P6 or an equivalent tool.

• Good knowledge of project controls requirements, procedures, and methods.

• Good knowledge of progress-measurement systems and Earned Value Analysis.

• Good knowledge of KPIs and project reporting systems.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

• Ability to present data and facts clearly and consistently.

• Effective communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

Working Conditions

• Home-office role supporting project and proposal activities.

• Frequent interaction with multidisciplinary teams and external project stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
