Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Data Compliance Specialist to join our team in Cape Town.

This role reports to the Data Compliance Team leader and is a unique opportunity to work in a high-performance Specialist B2B & B2C environment supporting the Takealot group.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Address and escalate Data Subject requests via all applicable incoming channels.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to resolve tracking of data requests.
- Conduct eligibility checks for Data requests.
- Provide ideas/actions to drive process & system improvement about data subject contacts across the Takealot.group
- Manage/adhere all SLAs about POPI data requests.
- Carry out internal audit procedures regularly about internal compliance practices including SOPs & Policy changes for new and existing features across brands.
- Review and identify data subject information to support the Information Officer.
- Work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk.
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Senior Certificate or Higher
- Minimum 2 years of strong experience in a specialist role
- Excel, SQL, Zendesk experience
- Experience in e-commerce, start-up, tech, or platform environment
- Complaints handling
