Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) — Temporary / Per Diem | Austin, TX Talencia connects experienced dental professionals with reputable practices across the Austin area for temporary, per diem, and recurring shift coverage. As a temp RDH in our network, you choose the shifts that fit your schedule, work in a variety of well-vetted offices, and earn competitive per diem pay — with Talencia handling scheduling, credential verification, and payment. Position Summary The temporary Registered Dental Hygienist provides direct clinical hygiene care during short-term assignments in Talencia client practices throughout the greater Austin area (Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, San Marcos). You'll step into established offices to deliver preventive and periodontal care, patient education, and clinical support while maintaining the standards of both the host practice and the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. This role is ideal for licensed hygienists seeking flexibility, variety, and above-market per diem earnings. Key Responsibilities Perform prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and periodontal maintenance procedures per the host practice's protocols Take and review radiographs (digital and traditional) consistent with Texas scope-of-practice requirements Conduct oral cancer screenings, periodontal charting, and intraoral assessments Apply preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants as directed by the supervising dentist Educate patients on oral hygiene, home care, and periodontal health Document care accurately in the practice's dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar) Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC infection-control standards at every assignment Collaborate professionally with the host dentist, assistants, and front-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Registered Dental Hygienist license issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners Current CPR / BLS certification Radiography certification valid in Texas New graduates welcome!
