The Role:

As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in promoting the well-being and success of our students. You will work with a diverse range of students from [grade levels] in individual and group settings, offering guidance and support on academic, social, and emotional matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Individual Counseling: Providing confidential, one-on-one counseling to students facing academic challenges, personal difficulties, or social conflicts.
  • Academic Advising: Assisting students in developing academic goals, creating effective study plans, and selecting appropriate courses.
  • Career Counseling: Exploring students' interests and aptitudes, guiding them in career exploration, and providing information on post-secondary education options.
  • Social-Emotional Learning: Leading workshops and activities that promote social-emotional skills development, resilience, and positive mental health.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Crisis Intervention: Addressing urgent issues and providing immediate support to students in crisis situations.
  • Program Development: Contributing to the development and implementation of school-wide counseling programs and initiatives.
  • Data Analysis: Monitoring student progress and utilizing data to inform counseling practices and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
  • State licensure or certification as a School Counselor.
  • Minimum of [number] years of experience working with students in a school setting.
  • Strong clinical and counseling skills, including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
