The posting

Company Description

Our client connects companies with skilled service professionals for exceptional on-site work. Their platform empowers businesses to overcome the challenge of finding reliable labor for short-term, high-volume projects across the U.S. and Canada. Technicians gain flexibility and find work that matches their skills. Our client's mission is clear: the right technician for the right job, ensuring dedicated service every time.

About the Role

Our client is a leading onsite work marketplace seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to take on a groundbreaking role, redefining the customer experience with their internal development platform and tooling.

In this position, you will enable software engineers to build, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud applications with security, reliability, and scalability built in by default. Your expertise will shape the design, build, and support of their platform engineering products, and you will thrive on operational excellence and reducing toil. You will also act as a platform ambassador, working with engineering teams to optimize platform usage and spot opportunities for continuous improvement. This is a dynamic position where you will not just meet the status quo, but set the bar higher and redefine it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to defining, designing, building, and operating the internal developer platform and tools, enabling other engineering teams to focus on feature work in their products.
  • Lead and mentor on cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, monitoring and alerting, and other areas of operational excellence.
  • Actively take part in the on-call rotation for incident response during working hours for the platform and tools.
  • Build monitoring that alerts on symptoms instead of waiting for outages.
  • Use metrics and data to continuously improve their products.
  • Make sure the right SLIs are defined and measured, and keep meeting or exceeding their SLOs.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the platform architecture and/or tools that reduce toil and/or improve resilience and scalability.
  • Use solid engineering practices to build long-term solutions that stop issues from repeating.
  • Apply chaos engineering practices to stress and validate that the right monitoring, resilience, and HA/DR commitments are being met.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as GitOps, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab (GitHub and GitHub Actions/Workflows preferred).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE.
  • 3+ years of experience writing secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) and following standard SDLC methodologies to build, test, deploy, and support cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred); working with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and Docker; and developing automation and tools using a range of scripting or programming languages.
  • 2+ years of experience building, running, and operating cloud-native applications with Docker and one or more programming languages (Node.js, PHP, or Go preferred).
  • Very strong background and passion for building secure solutions.
  • Working knowledge of defining and managing SLIs and SLOs, including how to use error budgets to keep SLOs on track.
  • Excellent English language skills, with clear and crisp communication, both verbal and written.
  • Solid emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate well with others, especially under pressure.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or a related field, or relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience building and operating an internal developer platform and tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Flux and Helm is highly desirable.
  • Broad working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, MKS, RDS, and S3 is a plus.
  • Operational experience in networking, certificate management, DNS, content delivery networks, and Identity management would be valued.
  • Ideally, experience with observability tools, preferably Datadog, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with working in an agile development environment is desired.

Employment Structure

  • Hybrid (3 days remote & 2 days onsite) in Dhaka | Full-time
  • Salary: BDT 170,000 - 220,000 (Monthly)
  • Benefits: Performance Reward + Festival Bonus + Referral Bonus + Gratuity + Leave Encashment + Medical Insurance + Gym Membership + Complimentary Lunch / Dinner + Unlimited Tea & Coffee + Transportation + Mobile Data Allowance + Career Development Budget + Two annual team retreats + Quarterly Team Outing Budget + Occasional Gifts + Leave Benefits (Maternity, Paternity, Hajj/Umrah, and Paid Time Off)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
