Company Description
Out client is a Canadian-headquartered global technology partner helping startups and growing companies build, scale, and optimize digital products with confidence.
They have partnered with founders, product leaders, and enterprises across North America, Australia, and Asia, delivering high-quality software through dedicated teams and staff augmentation models.
They specialize in building reliable, scalable, and future-ready solutions by blending strong engineering, product thinking, and clear communication.
About the Role
Our client is hiring one hands-on Tech Lead who writes production code, uses AI as a core part of how software gets built, and leads an engineering team in Dhaka. Their main stack is JavaScript and other teams work in Go or Java, but they hire for engineering depth, not a single language.
This is a lead-by-doing role. You will spend most of your time in the code, in reviews and in architecture decisions, not in slide decks
AI is central to this role. We expect AI to be part of your daily engineering workflow, and we expect you to make it part of your team's. If you treat AI tools as an occasional shortcut, this role is not a fit.
In practice that means you will use AI coding assistants and agents daily for writing, refactoring, testing, debugging and documenting code, while staying accountable for every line that ships. You will set the team's standards for AI-assisted development: where it is trusted, how its output is reviewed, and how prompts, context and tooling are shared. You will build AI-powered features into client and internal products, integrating LLM APIs into the applications we build. You will judge AI output critically, catching hallucinated APIs, insecure patterns and subtle logic errors in review. You will keep client code and data safe when using AI tools and follow each client's rules on what may be shared with them. Finally, you will keep track of how AI tooling is changing and bring in what measurably improves delivery speed or quality.
Key Responsibilities
Build:
- Write and ship production code in whatever language a project needs, taking on the hardest technical problems yourself.
- Design the architecture of web applications and services: APIs, data models, integrations and deployment.
- Design and optimize databases, both SQL and NoSQL.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services, and own the security of what the team ships.
Lead the team:
- Review code and set coding standards that the team follows in practice.
- Mentor developers through pairing, reviews and technical sessions, and close skill gaps you see.
- Help grow the engineering teams by designing technical assessments and interviewing candidates, including for teams working in Go or Java.
- Make the technical calls on projects and explain the trade-offs clearly.
Deliver:
- Work with project managers and clients to turn requirements into scoped technical plans.
- Act as the technical point of contact for clients on the projects you lead.
- Keep projects on time and on quality through CI/CD, automated testing and sound release practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development, including 4+ years as a tech lead or team lead.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and software design, and the ability to become productive quickly in any language a project needs.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one major programming language, with production systems you can walk us through.
- Daily, practical use of AI coding tools, and examples of how they changed the way you or your teamwork.
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database design skills.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
- Clear spoken and written English for working directly with clients.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Nice to have:
- Production experience with JavaScript (our main stack), Go or Java.
