We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly ambitious practitioner to the post of Assistant Director of English. This permanent teaching post includes initial temporary additional responsibility as Assistant Director, covering for a colleague on maternity, but with scope for the additional responsibility to be made permanent.

The post would suit an inspirational and innovative teacher, ideally with a proven track record at GCSE.

This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to help lead a large, vibrant, well established and very successful English department and to gain excellent professional development and future opportunity as they progress in their career.

We are seeking a well-qualified colleague who has:

Applicants are required to be well-organised, inspirational teachers, with strong leadership skills, who are passionate about their subject. You will be able to work independently and in liaison with other colleagues to create a high level of challenge for a range of learners in every lesson and support the on-going development of this high-achieving department.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 12th October 2026, although the school reserves the right to close the deadline sooner dependent upon applications. The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by DBS.
