The posting

We are seeking an experienced, committed and talented colleague to join our Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher. This role is as a result of the retirement of a long-standing colleague. We believe that a Senior Leadership team should bring together a diverse range of skills, experience and talents united behind the same values, beliefs and guiding principles. As such we are looking for a colleague to complement the team as an Assistant Headteacher who can add to the strengths of colleagues. Although the current post-holder is responsible for data and assessment (along with other areas) the specific duties of this post can be determined according to the gifts and experience of the right candidate. Our senior team is comprised of Catholics and non-Catholics but all are committed to the values and mission of the school.

Our school is committed to our mission as a Catholic community and seeks to help all our young people achieve their potential both academically and personally. We can offer a positive environment where you will be encouraged to progress further in your career should you wish, supported by a team of staff who are hardworking and dedicated to the school. Staff and student wellbeing are key to our community values and our staff surveys conistently report that over 90% of our staff would recommend St Benedict's as a place of work and are proud to work here.

St Benedict’s Catholic School was inspected in June 2025.

The report praised the school stating:

'Pupils who attend St Benedict’s Catholic school are encouraged to be the best versions of themselves. Alongside an education that provides them with knowledge to succeed, they are encouraged to reflect and consider the wider world and the people in it. This fully embodies the schools’ values of ‘wisdom, compassion and resilience’.

The school sets high expectations for its pupils, and they respond to this. They take pride in their work and achievements and want to do their best. This attitude is modelled by staff effectively. Pupils have strong relationships with the adults here and feel supported, valued and well guided throughout their time at school. Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes are positive. They are supportive of one another, and pupils from different year groups happily interact and help each other. This gives the school a sense of community where everyone works together purposefully. Pupils thrive within the school’s deeply supportive and nurturing environment.

They are open minded and self-assured. Pupils embrace diversity here and respect difference and say that this deepens their understanding of others. As a result, pupils feel secure, happy and appreciated.'

Please full report for more details.

Our Section 48 Diocesan Inspection of the religious character of the school in June/ July 2022 judged the school to be Outstanding.

Our school is committed to our mission as a Catholic community and seeks to help all our young people achieve their potential both academically and personally.

St Benedict's and Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Trust value and support the continued professional development of colleagues. Through the Trust employees are offered access to the Employee Assistance Programme through Health Assured.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
