Start date: January 2027

Woodcot Primary School is seeking an Assistant Teacher who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our new Resource Provision - The Beacon - will open to pupils in January 2027, so this is an exciting time to join the school and help shape the provision on offer to pupils at Woodcot. About the role

  • Build trusted, positive relationships with pupils, helping them to regulate their emotions and develop strategies for self-management.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing, feeding back to the SENCo and class teachers.
  • Work as part of a small, close-knit team to help establish and shape the new provision.

The ideal candidate will possess

  • A commitment to contributing to our school’s values, ethos and development.
  • Experience of, or a genuine interest in, supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • A calm, consistent and resilient approach when working with pupils who may present with behaviour that challenges.
  • An understanding of the impact of trauma and attachment on children’s behaviour and learning (desirable).

At Woodcot Primary School you will find

  • Happy, motivated children eager to learn in a one-form entry primary setting.
  • A dedicated, supportive and welcoming staff team.
  • A strong focus on continuing professional development (CPD) and a commitment to your future.
  • An ethos that embraces new ideas and innovation.
  • A well-resourced environment with extensive grounds.
  • Opportunities for strong professional development, including high-quality mentoring and coaching.

In return, you will get:

  • A competitive salary
  • Entry into our LGPS pension scheme
  • Free Enhanced DBS
  • Onsite parking
  • Opportunities for further education and professional development

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
