Breakfast Club Assistant

Salary: £5,305

Hours: 7:15 – 8:45, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Part-time and Term time only.

To commence: As soon as possible

About the School

At Chipstead Valley we set our expectations high for ourselves and for our children. We are a larger than average primary school set in beautiful grounds which include a swimming pool, cycle track, outdoor classroom, reading garden, immersive learning suite, woodland, conservation and orchard areas and an award winning, and extensive growing area. About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Extended School provision team, providing wraparound care outside of school hours for our children. You will be engaging our children with fun and creative play based activities, whilst supervising their free play, modelling expected behaviour at all times and following school policies and procedures where challenging behaviour arises. You will also be providing a healthy breakfast, taking note of any dietary requirements of all children attending. Our Breakfast club is split between two locations, caring for Nursery and KS1 children, and KS2 children. The successful candidate will be required to work across both teams to ensure adequate staff cover is provided at all times.

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in looking after nursery and primary school aged children from ages 2-11
  • Previous experience working or volunteering in a primary school
  • Proven experience engaging children in play based activities and conversations, with the ability to relate to children of all ages
  • Level 2 or 3 childcare qualfications would be an advantage but are not essential
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification would be an advantage but a willingness to undertake the qualification would be acceptable
