Our commitment to equality and social justice shapes how we lead, how we spend, and how we hold ourselves to account.

The Role

We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our senior leadership team at an important time for the Trust. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the Trust's financial strategy and operations, ensure our resources are used with integrity and impact, and provide clear, confident advice to the CEO, Executive Team and Trustees.

You Will:

  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, ensuring financial sustainability across all our academies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook, DfE requirements and statutory reporting, including the annual accounts and audit.
  • Oversee financial controls, risk management, treasury, procurement and value for money.
  • Lead and develop the finance team and shared services, and work closely with estates, HR and operational colleagues.
  • Contribute to Trust-wide decision-making as a member of the senior leadership team.

About You

You will be a qualified finance professional with significant senior-level financial leadership experience. You will combine strong technical expertise with the strategic judgement, communication skills and integrity required to operate effectively at Board and Executive level.

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or equivalent) and significant senior finance experience.
  • Experience of leading finance in a complex organisation, ideally a multi-academy trust, education or another public or not-for-profit setting.
  • Strong knowledge of academy financial regulation and governance, or the ability to master it quickly.
  • Credibility with Trustees and the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly.
  • A track record of leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Sound judgement, resilience and integrity, and a direct, collaborative style.

Why Join Us?

  • A senior leadership role with real influence on the Trust's future.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • A supportive, values-led culture in the heart of London.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit your CV and a supporting statement of no more than two A4 pages, explaining how your skills, experience and achievements meet the requirements of the role, to HR at [email protected].

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
