About us and the role
Avanti Meadows Primary School is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting positive outcomes for every pupil. You will create an inclusive, purposeful and supportive learning environment, using effective teaching, assessment and pastoral practice to help pupils make progress and develop as confident, independent learners.
Building positive relationships based on respect, kindness and mutual understanding will be central to the role, alongside promoting high expectations and a love of learning. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, pupils and families and contribute to the wider life of the school, in keeping with the values and ethos of the Avanti Schools Trust.
The role will provide opportunities to work as part of a supportive team, share effective practice and contribute to the ongoing development of teaching and learning across the school.

What will you do?
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive teaching that meets the needs of all pupils, builds on prior learning and enables every child to achieve their full potential.
- Monitor, assess and evaluate pupils’ progress and attainment, using assessment and feedback effectively to inform teaching, set challenging targets and support continued progress.
- Create a safe, purposeful and respectful learning environment by promoting positive behaviour, high expectations, independence and pupils’ wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents/carers, external agencies and the wider Avanti Schools Trust to support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing and contribute to the wider life of the school.
Reflect on and develop professional practice through collaboration, training, performance management and engagement with school policies, the Teacher Standards and statutory responsibilities.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant subject or allied subject
- QTS qualified
- Able to self-start, work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, whether led or leading
- Clear vision and understanding of how to implement and sustain a high-quality teaching and learning
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
