Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy is seeking a committed, reflective and inspirational Class Teacher (Year 6) to join our team and ensure every day counts for every child. Both full time and part time applicants to be considered.

As a one‑form‑entry school at the heart of the Bilsthorpe community, we are proud to be a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive school where children, families and staff work closely together. Our strong sense of community means the successful candidate will be joining a supportive, collaborative team who are deeply committed to improving outcomes and experiences for every child.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled teacher to make a meaningful impact in a school that is on a clear and purposeful improvement journey, supported by strong leadership and the wider Flying High Partnership.

About Flying High:

Flying High Partnership is a thriving multi-academy trust of 38 primary schools across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire. We are driven by a shared vision to be unique, exceptional, and sustainable. Founded in 2012, we believe in the power of meaningful collaboration to help schools reach their full potential while supporting others along the way.

Our Partnership celebrates individuality, champions continuous improvement, and ensures every child thrives. With a strong focus on school-led professional development and leadership, we’re committed to growing exceptional teachers and inspirational leaders.

Together, we make every day count.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Class Teacher who brings strong, proven classroom practice and a commitment to high‑quality teaching and learning. This role is ideal for a teacher who can establish a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment, underpinned by clear routines and consistently high expectations. You will bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to classroom management and be confident in using a range of positive strategies to promote excellent behaviour for learning.

You will be well supported by senior leaders and colleagues, with regular opportunities for professional dialogue, shared reflection and assessment moderation. We value collaboration and professional trust, ensuring staff feel supported whilst maintaining clear ownership of teaching and learning within their classroom.

A clear understanding of inclusive teaching is essential. You will be adept at identifying and responding to the diverse needs within your class, including pupils with SEND, adapting teaching to ensure all children are fully included, supported and appropriately challenged. You will work closely with colleagues, support staff and families to ensure every child is able to thrive throughout their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all children in the class
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that fosters children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning
  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and provide high‑quality feedback
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture rooted in respect, inclusion and excellent behaviour for learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum quality and share best practice

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has experience of working in Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2 (desirable)
  • Has strong, consistent behaviour management and clear classroom routines
  • Brings experience, confidence and resilience to the role
  • Is passionate about inclusive practice and supporting children with diverse needs
  • Makes learning engaging, challenging and meaningful
  • Enjoys collaboration and contributes positively to a strong team culture
  • Is reflective, values‑driven and committed to making a difference for every child

This role would particularly suit a classroom teacher who enjoys being part of positive change, values teamwork, and wants to have a genuine impact within a supportive school community.

We Can Offer You:

  • A strong commitment to our people, underpinned by Flying High’s people principles: adaptability, wellness, recognising achievement, employee voice, professional growth, inclusivity and collaboration
  • Access to extensive, high‑quality career‑long professional learning, including opportunities to develop as a leader
  • The opportunity to shape practice, contribute to whole‑school priorities and get involved in partnership‑wide initiatives
  • Clear opportunities for career progression across the partnership
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme, including counselling, financial and legal support
  • A warm, welcoming working environment where staff are supported, valued and work together for the benefit of children

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
