Are you passionate about helping young people succeed? Do you enjoy building positive relationships and creating a calm, purposeful learning environment?

The Astley Cooper School is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our established team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people and help them achieve more than they thought possible.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who are passionate about supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and who understand the positive impact that encouragement, high expectations and strong relationships can have on a student's confidence and achievement.

About The Astley Cooper School

The Astley Cooper School is an increasingly popular and oversubscribed secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. We are proud of our diverse school community and are committed to providing the very best opportunities for every student and member of staff.

Situated on the edge of Hemel Hempstead, the school benefits from excellent transport links, with easy access to the M1 and M25 as well as the local train station.

We are continuing to build a strong culture of success, with high expectations for all our students. Our aim is that every young person leaves us as a successful, well-rounded and confident individual, ready to take their next steps and succeed in the modern world.

Working in our school can be challenging, but that is also what makes it so rewarding. Our challenges are significant, but they are exactly why we love working here.

The successful candidate will

  • Have a genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their development.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students.
  • Have high expectations of students and encourage them to achieve their best.
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to making a difference.
  • Be confident managing a classroom and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Be reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be willing to contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Experience of working with young people would be an advantage, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to helping every student succeed.

What we can offer you

At The Astley Cooper School, we recognise that our staff are central to our success. We are committed to supporting colleagues to develop professionally and personally, and offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Vivup - a Hertfordshire County Council cashback scheme
  • A comprehensive CPD programme for all colleagues
  • A supportive and committed school community
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives and futures of young people

Be part of something that matters

If you are enthusiastic, positive and passionate about helping young people reach their potential, we would love to hear from you.

Join The Astley Cooper School and become part of a team that believes in the potential of every student and is committed to helping them achieve more than they thought possible.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
