About this Role

Are you passionate about helping young people thrive?

Furze Platt Senior School is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and reliable individual to join our dedicated Cover Supervisor team. You will be supervising classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher working in a classroom environment alongside students at Key Stage 3 and 4. Your main responsibility would be to instruct students about the work set by the teacher and assisting them to stay on task and complete the work set to the best of their ability. The provision of cover will be varied: you might introduce the work by talking through a Power Point, showing video clips, or reading through texts with students. You may be asked to lead a class discussion, organise group work or supervise PE and Drama activities. You would also learn about school policies and how they are implemented including the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy.

About Furze Platt

Furze Platt is a highly successful, mixed comprehensive school serving the children and young people of Maidenhead. With around 1,500 students, we are an ambitious, high-achieving and fully inclusive school where every student is encouraged and supported to achieve their best.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be a team player who can communicate sensitively and confidently with students and colleagues. You will also be able to use your own initiative and have strong organisational and time-management skills. Confidence using a laptop as well as good organisational skills are important for this role. We are welcoming full-time and part-time applications. Working hours starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30pm (including half hour unpaid break), term time only plus two INSET days. Salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.

In addition, if you are a graduate with an interest in a career working with young people in education and you would like this opportunity to gain some experience working in a classroom environment before considering teacher training, we would be delighted to receive your application. For further information about teacher training please refer to www.teachmaidenhead.co.uk

Why join Furze Platt?

We want our staff to feel valued, supported and part of our school community. As part of the Furze Platt team, you will benefit from:

  • A friendly and supportive working environment.
  • A strong commitment to staff physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Discounted membership of our fully equipped, well-maintained on-site gym.
  • Access to a wellbeing benefit offering video and phone GP consultations, counselling support, physiotherapy and much more - all designed to help support your health and wellbeing.
  • Opportunities to get involved in our wider staff community, including social events, after-school sports and our Furze Platt fantasy football league.
  • Recognition of long service and a culture that values staff contribution.

Make a difference with us

If you are enthusiastic about supporting young people, have a genuine interest in autism and SEND, and would like to be part of a welcoming and ambitious school community, we would love to hear from you.

Furze Platt Senior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
