Wittering Primary School are seeking a new Deputy Headteacher and Lead for our new SEMH Hub. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a brand new Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Hub funded by the local authority. From the earliest stages of development, you will have the opportunity to shape the environment, curriculum, therapeutic offer, staffing structure and culture, ensuring that the provision meets the needs of pupils whilst remaining fully integrated within our mainstream school community. We are seeking an inspirational and ambitious leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children with SEMH needs and who can help create an exceptional provision from the ground up.

Wittering Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive school community where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Guided by our ethos of Try Hard, Be Kind, Fly High, we place equal importance on academic achievement, personal development and emotional wellbeing. We believe that every child deserves to feel successful and valued. Through strong relationships, high expectations and a nurturing approach, we support pupils to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. The creation of our new Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Hub represents a significant and exciting development for our school and the wider community. Funded by the local authority, the Hub will provide specialist support for pupils whose SEMH needs require a more personalised and therapeutic approach to education.

Why Work at Wittering Primary School?

This opportunity offers far more than a traditional leadership role. As Deputy Headteacher and Lead for the SEMH Hub, you will play a key role in shaping a provision from its inception. You will have the freedom to influence the environment, curriculum, staffing structure and therapeutic approach, creating something exceptional for children with SEMH needs. You will join a school that:

  • Places relationships and wellbeing at the heart of its work.
  • Values creativity, inclusion and innovation.
  • Maintains high aspirations for every child.
  • Encourages collaborative leadership and professional growth.
  • Sees learning as an adventure and believes every child can succeed.

The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced leadership team, strong local authority partnerships and the wider expertise available through Soke Education Trust.

Applications should be submitted via MyNewTerm and include a supporting statement of no more than two sides of A4 outlining how your experience equips you to establish and lead this SEMH Hub.

School Visits Prospective candidates are warmly encouraged to visit the school. Visits provide an opportunity to meet the leadership team, learn more about the vision for the Hub and experience our school community first hand. For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact: [email protected]

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
