The posting

EYFS and SEN Learning Support Assistant (H5)

Applicants must hold EYFS Level 3 (or an equivalent qualification suitable for working with nursery-aged children) and be willing to undertake paediatric first aid training.

We are seeking staff for either a morning role (7.45am-1.00pm), working 3 days a week (Monday to Wednesday) or an afternoon role (12.00pm-6.00pm), working 5 days per week. We will also consider part-time applications for 2 or 3 mornings or afternoons per week.

Morning Role

7.45am-8.30am Supporting a small group of EYFS children and/or pupils with SEND in our Early Morning Club, led by a manager and assistant who are also Learning Support Assistants within the school.

8.30am-1.00pm Working predominantly on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has complex additional needs, with occasional general classroom support or small-group work.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is confident working with children.
  • Can remain calm, consistent and supportive when managing dysregulated behaviour.
  • Demonstrates empathy, resilience, patience and strong communication skills.
  • Has an understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND.

In a school where the children are at the heart of all we do, you will work as part of a positive and well-motivated team and the work will be rewarding. Our aim is always to enable each child to achieve their true potential.

Prior experience of working with children would be an advantage, however training will be provided to:

  • Provide tailored support and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive and inclusive relationships with children.
  • Implement personalised learning programmes.
  • Provide personal care to support a child's comfort and wellbeing.
  • Gather and share information with the class teacher and SENCO.

Afternoon Role

1.00pm-3.15pm Working predominantly on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has complex additional needs, with occasional general classroom support or small-group work.

3.15pm-6.00pm Supporting a small group of EYFS children and/or pupils with SEND in our After School Club, led by a manager and assistants who are also Learning Support Assistants within the school.

The same qualities and training opportunities outlined above apply to this role.

We Can Offer

  • A strong and supportive staff team.
  • An Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in all areas (March 2025).
  • Well-behaved children who enjoy school.
  • A happy and inclusive school with strong community links.
  • Access to a staff wellbeing service.

To arrange a visit or request further information, please contact the school office on 01582 792341.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
