  • Administering purchasing, invoicing and payment arrangements, including coding invoices and raising credit notes
  • Assisting with supplier payment runs via BACS and checking supplier statements
  • Reconciling bank accounts, control accounts and the trial balance on a monthly basis
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and departmental inventories
  • Supporting the monthly payroll cycle, pension scheme administration and payroll queries
  • Helping with end-of-year processes, audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Providing ad-hoc financial reports and analysis, and helping ensure compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook

For the full list of duties, please see the job description attached.

To join the Gateway Trust as a Finance Officer, we are looking for someone who has:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A-C/9-4 in Maths and English
  • AAT Level 2 or 3 (or working towards), or equivalent finance experience
  • Experience in a finance or administrative role, including data entry and reconciling transactions
  • Good attention to detail, numeracy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and the ability to manage a varied workload to deadlines
  • Experience of academy/MAT finance, Access Finance or payroll administration is a plus, but not essential

Why join the Gateway Trust:

  • 24 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • LGPS Pension
  • Free Enhanced DBS
  • Onsite parking
  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing, including a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme App and GP App
  • Cycle to work scheme, flu vaccinations and assistance towards eye tests and glasses
  • Discounted meals
  • Opportunities for further education and professional development

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
