The posting

Geography Teacher

The Hemel Hempstead School

Full time, Permanent post

MPS / UPS Fringe £34398 - £52490

Start: January 2027

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and outstanding teacher to the position of Geography Teacher from January 2027. The successful candidate will join our flourishing and successful Humanities Faculty and will be part of an ambitious, committed and experienced team. The ability to teach the subject at Key Stage 3 and 4 is essential and previous experience of teaching A Level is an advantage. The Department follows the AQA Specifications at GCSE and A Level.

We aim to provide a Geography curriculum which promotes interest and curiosity in the world around us and inspires a sense of shared responsibility for the planet we live in. As students progress from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, they experience a broad curriculum that develops the knowledge and geographical skills required to understand the human and physical processes that have shaped the places they have visited and those they are inspired to experience in the future. They learn key skills and processes that will enable them to appreciate the interactions between the Human and Physical worlds. Contemporary geographical issues ranging from a local development proposal to global climate change are woven throughout the curriculum. The Department recognises the value of fieldwork in developing understanding of the route to enquiry and linking theory with reality. Trips include a visit to Kew Gardens in Year 8, a fieldwork study day in Year 9 and an annual residential field course in Year 11 and Year 12.

The Hemel Hempstead School is a popular and oversubscribed school on a beautiful site in the Boxmoor area. The school is close to local and national rail, bus and road links to London. We are an expanding school, with 217 students in each year group and over 250 students in the Sixth Form. Our facilities are excellent with world-class sporting facilities, a brand-new music, languages and science centre and plans for further improvements across the site.

Diversity: Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

For any questions, please contact HR at [email protected]. To apply, please fill in the application form on My New Term - CVs will not be accepted.

Closing date: 9 October 2026

Interview date: TBC

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
