JOB TITLE: Teacher of History

BASED AT: Samuel Whitbread Academy

SALARY/GRADE RANGE: MPS / UPS

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of History Department

The Bedfordshire Schools Trust (BEST) is a multi-academy trust providing exceptional education across our community of 11 schools and five nurseries. Since forming in 2016, we have grown significantly into one of the largest single employers in Central Bedfordshire. We now educate more than 8,000 children across the area, from nursery age to advanced level study. It is our aim to grow the BEST in everyone, and everything we do is driven by our values, but our aims can only be achieved if we recruit, retain and develop the highest quality workforce - and we want those we employ to be valued in the workplace. The formative years of BEST have been a real success story - and we are looking forward to an exciting future, too.

The study of History forms the bedrock of understanding the culture that we live in at national level and in the world around us. Our range of history offers the opportunity to explore different peoples’ perspectives on issues and events and think critically about the world in which they live. The History curriculum offered immerses students in a range of issues and engenders an enquiring and critical outlook on Britain and the world, with skills that can be applied in other subjects and in their future endeavours. Understanding key concepts within History, such as significance and causation and consequence, unlock the door for students to be able to ask leading questions, analyse information and convey their views in a methodical and structured way.

You will have the ambition to develop an ethos of high quality teaching, a rich and engaging curriculum and high levels of respect and care. At Samuel Whitbread Academy we are genuinely committed to ensuring that each student fulfils his or her potential. We place great emphasis on engagement, resilience and independent learning.

We openly encourage all potential applicants to come and spend some time with us prior to submitting an application. Please get in touch to arrange a time to come and visit our fabulous school, have a coffee/tea with SLT and the Department who would be happy to answer any questions you might have about Samuel Whitbread Academy!

This role will involve working closely with the students at Samuel Whitbread Academy and you will be engaging in regulated activity with children.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
