Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Make a Real Difference. Every Learner. Every Day.

Are you passionate about helping children and young people with special educational needs to thrive?

We support learners with a wide range of needs including severe and profound learning difficulties, autism, complex communication needs, and physical and sensory needs. We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team. This is much more than a support role. Every day is different, every achievement matters, and every interaction has the potential to change a learner's future.

Why Join West SILC?

Our provision is organised into seven specialist pathways across our sites:

🩷 Explore - sensory-rich, play-based learning for our youngest learners and those with the most complex needs - Milestone (and one class Farnley)

💙 Aspire - supporting learners with autism and complex communication needs through personalised approaches, structure and sensory regulation - Milestone

💛 Connect - developing communication, relationships and independence using visual supports, AAC and meaningful interaction - Milestone

🧡 Climb - preparing learners with moderate to severe learning difficulties for adulthood, independence and life beyond school - Milestone and Hollybush

💜 Engage - supporting learners with complex and multiple learning needs through communication, movement, sensory experiences and active engagement - Farnley Academy

🖤 Elevate - combining tailored learning with opportunities to join mainstream lessons, build confidence and work towards qualifications - Co-op Academy Priesthorpe

💚 Powerhouse Life-Changing (PLC) - helping post-16 learners develop independence, community and employment skills through practical learning and simulated work environments - Springfield Mills, Farsley.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Support learners in lessons, therapeutic activities and daily routines. Help learners develop communication, independence and confidence. Use visual supports, sensory approaches and practical activities to engage learners. Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and their families. Support personal care where required. Assist with moving and handling procedures (full training provided). Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals. Celebrate and encourage every step of progress, no matter how small.

We're Looking For People Who:

✔ Enjoy working with children and young people. ✔ Are patient, positive and resilient. ✔ Can build strong relationships and work as part of a team. ✔ Are willing to learn new skills and approaches. ✔ Want to make a genuine difference to the lives of learners with SEND.

Previous experience in a school is helpful but not essential. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds including care, health, youth work, childcare and early years, customer service and community roles.

Please note - the job description is located in the recruitment information attachment.

Join us and become part of a team where every learner matters, every achievement is celebrated, and every day brings the opportunity to change a life.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
