The posting

We are seeking a enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives and who want a role that goes beyond traditional classroom support.

What makes Beacon different?

Unlike many schools where LSAs are assigned solely to support within a single classroom, Beacon Primary Academy operates an innovative and inclusive support model. Our Learning Support Assistants develop expertise in specific areas of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), becoming specialists who contribute to our whole-school intervention and inclusion offer both inside and outside the classroom.

Depending on experience and interests, LSAs may have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Cognition and Learning
  • ADHD and Executive Functioning
  • Sensory and Physical Needs
  • Emotional literacy and wellbeing interventions

At the heart of our inclusion offer is The Nest, our dedicated hub for pupils who benefit from a more personalised approach to their learning and development. The Nest provides a calm, nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils receive tailored support to help them learn, develop and flourish. We are looking for staff who share our commitment to ensuring every child feels understood, valued and supported to achieve their full potential

The Role

You will:

  • Support pupils individually, in small groups and within whole-class settings.
  • Deliver evidence-informed interventions that accelerate progress and improve outcomes.
  • Develop expertise within a SEND specialism and contribute to our inclusive practice across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders, families and external agencies.
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Help create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their potential.
  • Support the implementation of personalised strategies and provision plans.

Alongside the role as a Learning Support Assistant, the postholder will provide teacher cover when required, leading planned learning activities and ensuring pupils remain engaged, supported and ready to learn.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about inclusion and supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is committed to continuous professional development and learning.
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
  • Works effectively as part of a team while showing initiative and independence.
  • Shares our belief that every child can succeed with the right support.

Why choose Beacon Primary Academy?

This is more than a traditional Learning Support Assistant role. It is an opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking school that recognises the vital contribution support staff make to inclusive education. Our LSAs are not simply classroom-based assistants; they are skilled practitioners, intervention specialists and advocates for children who need us most.

If you are looking for a rewarding role within a school that is ambitious for every child and committed to developing every member of staff, we would love to hear from you.

In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and highly valued people:

Alongside nationally agreed terms and conditions, we offer a generous benefits package. Here's a selection of what's on offer to our people in recognition of the huge difference they make to our children, their families and the communities we serve.

  • Access to Benefit Hub - the world’s largest discount marketplace
  • A free Wellbeing Gateway platform and mobile app
  • A free, 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme - confidential & compassionate support when you need it
  • Lease a brand‑new or pre‑loved hybrid vehicle through our Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme
  • Train & qualify as a Mental Health First Aider. We aim to have a qualified Mental Health First Aider in each academy
  • Supporting your professional development through CPD, Apprenticeships, Upskilling and Professional Review
  • Generous public sector pension schemes for everyone
  • Eye tests & Spectacles Discount
  • Family friendly policies and time off for dependants
  • Dedicated ECT support programme
  • Access to savings in childcare costs
  • Generous annual leave allocation
  • Automatic pay progression
  • Free parking on all sites
  • Principles on workload & directed time for teaching staff
  • Professional Supervision for Academy Leaders

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
