The posting
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our school team on a fixed-term basis. Lunchtime is an important part of every pupil’s day, and you will play a key role in making it safe, happy and well organised. Working across the dining hall, playground and classrooms, you will supervise pupils, encourage positive play and good table manners, and support younger or more vulnerable children who may need a little extra help.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a real difference to their wellbeing. You will be a positive role model, apply the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently, and work closely with colleagues to deal calmly with minor incidents and disputes. Previous experience is welcome but not essential - what matters most is a calm, patient approach, good communication skills and a genuine commitment to keeping children safe.
Hunnyhill Ormiston Academy is a two-form entry Primary School for children aged 3 to 11. We are a school situated in the centre of the Island with surrounding forest and farmland with a view of Carisbrooke Castle.
Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an inclusive school which prepares our pupils to be confident and happy. Our children work hard and are happy to share and talk about their learning.
Our creative curriculum will inspire, motivate and challenge in a supportive environment. We value enquiring minds to enable pupils to use a higher level of thinking.
Why work for Ormiston Academies Trust?
Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach - they are our greatest asset.
We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.
