About this Role

🌟 Pastoral Lead

Kellington Primary School

Do you have the heart to connect with children, the skills to help them overcome barriers and the ambition to make a real difference?

Kellington Primary School is looking for a warm, resilient and proactive Pastoral Lead to join our team.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting children's wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and engagement.

You will be a key member of our Attendance Team, working closely with children and families to identify and remove barriers to regular attendance. You will build strong relationships with families and work collaboratively with Early Help and other external agencies to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

The role also includes responsibility as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), working closely with the DSL and wider safeguarding team to promote the safety and welfare of all children.

🌱 Thrive experience desirable

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are qualified or experienced Thrive practitioners. Thrive experience is desirable rather than essential; we are also keen to hear from professionals with experience in pastoral care, safeguarding, attendance, SEND, behaviour or family support.

⭐ We are looking for someone who:

  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
  • Is calm, compassionate, resilient and solution-focused.
  • Has high expectations for every child.
  • Understands that behaviour is communication and looks beyond the presenting behaviour.
  • Is confident having sensitive conversations with families.
  • Is passionate about improving attendance and removing barriers to learning.
  • Understands safeguarding and demonstrates strong professional curiosity.
  • Lives and models our school values of resilience, respect, integrity and kindness.
  • Works effectively with colleagues, families and external agencies.

💛 Why Kellington?

At Kellington, our values are at the heart of everything we do. We want our children to develop resilience, show respect, act with integrity and treat others with kindness.

Above all, we want to help every child to shine.

We are an ambitious primary school committed to high expectations, strong relationships and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our developing approach to pastoral support, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing, while making a genuine difference to children's lives.

If you believe every child can thrive with the right support, and you share our passion for helping children to shine, we would love to hear from you.

🌟 Come and make a difference at Kellington.

Visits to school are warmly welcomed. Contact Lisa Hurd 01977 661127 or [email protected] to arrange a visit or find out more.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
