The posting
We are a small, friendly and welcoming rural school nestled in the foothills of the Quantocks, near Bridgwater in Somerset. Our school is built on a strong commitment to both academic excellence and the personal development of every child. Guided by our six core values of protect, trust, hope, perseverance, courage and respect, we foster a caring environment where children are encouraged to thrive, achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Candidates will have the ability to teach students across EYFS/KS1 up to KS2, and be confident in all forms of the relevant assessments including Key Stage 2 SATS. You will be committed to developing the well-being and full potential of all children within a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, happy and excited to learn.
You will also possess the ability to liaise effectively with staff, parents/carers and other professionals, and also support and ensure continuity of educational provision for pupils with SEND.
Our delightful children are polite, enthusiastic and hardworking and we have a welcoming family atmosphere and caring ethos based on Church School Values and our Vision “Together we flourish and achieve”. We are also a well-resourced school with plenty of hands-on learning in our beautiful rural setting. Working in a team of many adults is essential in order to successfully deliver across the year groups in one class so being able to lead, direct and communicate with support staff is a must.
We offer a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and staff to flourish with a supportive community of staff, governors, parents and volunteers.
We can offer you membership of a highly inclusive learning community which promotes collaboration and a sense of pride and identity, as well as professional development through bespoke career planning.
Discussions with the Executive Headteacher or visits to the school are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school via [email protected] or 01278 671409 for an appointment.
Early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to close the advert should we be able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
The Quantock Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We welcome applications from under-represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
The advertised post is subject to a teaching and learning interview, an enhanced DBS check References, Right to Work in the UK, online searches and other pre-employment checks.
