The posting

We are looking for a great teacher to join us. Working flexibly across the school to provide high-quality teaching and cover support, you will play a vital role in releasing teachers for key responsibilities and creating additional capacity for our team.

Kirk Sandall Junior School is a 7-11 school set in the heart of its community. We are a proud member of the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Multi-Academy Trust and we have a friendly and supportive Local Governing Body. We secured 'strong' in all aspects of our recent Ofsted inspection (April 2026).

We value every child who attends our school, and the relationship that we have built with Kirk Sandall Infants to ensure that we have created a nurturing environment where children can flourish as they continue to develop a love of learning and ‘Be confident. Be inspired. Belong’ .

We are fortunate to have an excellent team of practitioners who are relentless in their ambition to provide the best possible education for our children.

Furthermore, we aim to work in collaboration with parents, pupils and members of the community to make sure we keep evolving and developing to ensure that excellence is at the heart of everything that we strive to achieve.

Our ambitious curriculum has been carefully developed to ensure the children make the most of every learning opportunity.

We believe in inclusive, active and creative learning that engages all of the children, whilst celebrating equality and diversity. We focus heavily on high quality teaching and learning, which not only centres on developing key skills through the curriculum, but also on producing independent and responsible future global citizens.

We can offer you:

An opportunity to be part of a highly motivated team, committed to the very best outcomes for children

A supportive local governing board and trust

Happy children who are keen to do well and learn

A supportive community and families

Professional development for all

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has recent experience of working with children in KS2
  • Is hardworking, patient, calm and has a good sense of humour
  • Can work effectively as part of a wider team, including being a Midday Supervisor
  • Will be fully committed to the role, our values, our team and the Trust.

BENEFITS - We offer a comprehensive benefits package featuring a substantial government pension scheme and up to 28 days of annual leave, Westfield health membership and other 'perks' designed to support our wellbeing charter (please see our attached Recruitment Pack for full details of the many benefits on offer). Our work schedule is thoughtfully designed to align with family needs, including consideration of school holidays. This approach facilitates a balanced work-life integration, supporting both professional and personal commitments.

The successful candidate will be based at Kirk Sandall Junior School but may be required to work elsewhere within the Trust, as may reasonably be required by the Headteacher/Principal, CEO for the discharge of their duties.

Please complete the application form and add a personal statement explaining:

All posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions are ‘protected’.

These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.

The school/UTC will carry out on-line searches as part of their due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates who will also be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview. You may be asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process. If your application is successful, this self-disclosure information will be checked against information from the Disclosure & Barring Service before your appointment is confirmed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
