The St Bart's Multi Academy Trust, in partnership with Governors, staff and children of Abbey Hill Academy and College are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our hard working and committed team.

Job Purpose
To lead the Pupil Support Team (PST) to address the needs of pupils who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning, with specific responsibility for coordinating pupil mental health, therapeutic support (OT/SALT), and targeted interventions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise with teaching staff and external practitioners to assess and provide particular support to targeted pupils to raise achievement and enable them to overcome barriers to learning, including leading on pupil mental health, wellbeing, SEMH, and communication needs
- Be accountable for identification in one or a cluster of schools of the needs and assess those pupils requiring extra support and develop individual action plans for targeted pupils, and work with an allocation of pupils
- Line manage the Pupil Support Team, including staff training, development, and day to day supervision
- Work with parents / carers to help address poor performance/attendance/behaviour
- Undertake home visits to keep parents/carers informed, and secure positive family support
- Monitor the implementation of plans and report on progress achieved, support the re-integration of pupils excluded from school or following an alternative timetable
- Provide extra support to pupils through knowledge of a range of activities and opportunities available to them, including overseeing mental health initiatives, delivering whole-school in-service training, and acting as a certified CPI Safety Intervention trainer.
- Contribute to improving the Pupil Support Team and school plans, including writing and reviewing allocated policies
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external agencies/organisations to set up resources/initiatives to help address barriers to learning, attend multi-professional meetings, and take notes.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to pupils’ personal circumstances.
- Manage study support activities, such as homework clubs
- Support the transition of pupils moving between schools e.g. from primary to secondary
- Contribute to the development of activities to encourage family involvement in the school
- Undertake occasional outreach and deliver training to other schools / settings
- Any other duties appropriate to the post.
