Together, we make every day count.

About the Role

As our School Business Lead, you will take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of the school office and business functions. You’ll work closely with the Headteacher and SLT to drive high‑quality administration, financial planning, personnel processes, and operational support across the school.

You’ll lead an enthusiastic administrative team, ensuring our office delivers a welcoming, professional and highly organised service for staff, pupils, parents, governors and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Lead and develop administrative, financial and support functions to meet current and future school needs.
  • Manage and motivate office staff, ensuring high standards, clear performance expectations, and a positive working culture.
  • Oversee quality assurance across all support functions, ensuring information systems and processes remain accurate, efficient and compliant.
  • Support the Headteacher and SLT with budget setting, monitoring and reporting, while managing allocated budgets effectively.
  • Lead procurement activity, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring best value.
  • Take ownership of personnel administration and take the lead in the school for HR, policies, procedures and compliance matters.
  • Resolve complex operational issues and ensure processes run smoothly across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, governors and external partners.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the school, undertake relevant CPD and maintain a positive, solutions‑focused approach in all aspects of your work.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Takes pride in leading a high‑quality, efficient and welcoming school office that supports the whole school community.
  • Brings a proactive, positive and solutions‑focused approach to managing busy administrative and business operations.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with staff, parents, governors and external partners, building strong and professional relationships.
  • Has the organisational strength and attention to detail needed to oversee systems, data, budgets and compliance effectively.
  • Is an experienced team leader who supports, motivates and develops colleagues to achieve their very best.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced environment, staying calm, adaptable and resourceful when managing competing priorities.
  • Uses sound judgement to resolve complex issues and contributes thoughtfully to strategic planning.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, equality, professionalism and ensuring that every decision supports the best interests of children and staff.

We Can Offer You:

  • A strong commitment to our people, guided by principles of wellbeing, adaptability, inclusivity, and collaboration.
  • Access to high-quality professional learning at every stage of your career, including leadership development opportunities.
  • Clear pathways for career progression across our partnership.
  • An employee assistance programme offering specialist support, including counselling, financial guidance, and legal advice.
  • A positive, supportive working environment where teamwork benefits every child.
  • The chance to make a genuine difference to children’s lives every single day.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
