The posting

Kingswood: It is an exciting time for Kingswood Secondary Academy. We are privileged to serve one of the most deprived communities in Northamptonshire, yet our fantastic students are now in the top third of Northamptonshire schools in terms of their academic outcomes. Contextually, this places our students in the top 5 secondary schools, out of 42, in the county. If you’d like to find out more about how we and our students work together to achieve this, and you are a hard-working individual who enjoys being part of a team, then please speak with a Hums / MFL Triad member.

At Kingswood, we know that most teachers have come into the profession to make a difference in the lives of young people, and not for the money! The staff at Kingswood make an incredible difference in the lives of the young people in our care. Based on our RISE values of Respect, Independence, Service to Community and Empathy, we have carefully cultivated a culture that is conducive to learning, where teachers can enjoy teaching and students can thrive and learn well. Lessons are settled and very purposeful, corridors are calm and students get on well with each other during social times. Staff turnover is very low, and staff attendance very high. If you feel this might be the environment where you can make a difference, then come and see for yourself with one of our Walk and Talks. Have a look at what our staff say about working at Kingswood by looking at the ‘Why Choose Us’ section of our website https://www.kingswoodsecondaryacademy.org/page/?title=Why+choose+us%3F&pid=334

This role: We are looking for an energetic, experienced and hardworking colleague to take on the leadership of Standards & Progress in our excellent Humanities and MFL Curriculum Area. Our ideal candidate will have a passionate and uncompromising commitment to pupil achievement and be a believer in the potential of all young people. We are particularly looking for a Geographer to take on this role (so as to complement our other leaders’ specialisms in History, RS and MFL in this Curriculum area), so the successful candidate would be Standards and Progress Lead and also lead on Geography. The entire Hums / MFL team are committed to the pursuit of excellence and are team players with a strong desire to work collaboratively. We pride ourselves on the excellent support we give not only to our students, but each other too. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Deputy Principal (Standards & Progress) and in close partnership with other S&P Leads. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and appropriately experienced colleague to step up and take on a significant middle leadership position. The post is full time, but we would be open to a conversation with a suitable colleague whose desire is for 0.8

In particular, this role will involve:

  • Quality assurance of faculty data e.g. PPE, progress check student data
  • Supporting colleagues with data input and analysis
  • Implementation, review and monitoring of the assessment policy across the faculty
  • Collaboration with the Curriculum Leader and the Teaching and Learning Lead for a triangulated approach to raising standards
  • Monitoring and tracking of student progress over time
  • Planning, organisation and implementation of relevant intervention strategies
  • To support the Curriculum Leader to ensure student outcomes reflect their full potential

Our Walk & Talk invitation to you: We warmly welcome potential candidates to come on what we refer to as a ‘Walk and Talk’. This usually takes less than an hour, can be during the academy day or after school has finished. We find this provides a great opportunity for candidates to get a really good insight into Kingswood, prior to submitting an application. Please email [email protected] (Senior Deputy Principal) if you would like to come in for a ‘Walk and Talk’.

Additional benefits of working at Kingswood: Additional staff benefits at Kingswood include: Very strong ‘Pathways’ Programme to support your professional learning, market leading discount on personal laptop / computer, free gym on site, discounted electric car charging and access to our Employee Wellbeing Programme with associated perks.

In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and highly valued people:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
