This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of school life, providing first aid and medical support to students while also playing a key role in promoting excellent attendance.

You will be the first point of contact for students requiring medical assistance, ensuring that those with both short-term illnesses and longer-term medical needs receive appropriate care, support and reassurance. Alongside this, you will work closely with students, families and staff to monitor attendance, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring every young person has the best opportunity to succeed.

The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, highly organised and able to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues alike. You will be an excellent communicator with a compassionate and professional approach, recognising the important role you play in supporting the health, wellbeing and educational outcomes of our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to become part of a school community that places student wellbeing, inclusion and achievement at the centre of everything we do.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a minimum First Aid at Work qualification (3-day course) or is willing to maintain this qualification.
  • Has experience of working in a health, welfare or attendance role.
  • Is highly organised with excellent administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Can remain calm and make sound decisions in a busy school environment.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is approachable, caring and committed to supporting young people.
  • Has excellent attendance, reliability and time management skills.
  • Is able to work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.

In return, we can offer:

  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to students' lives.
  • A supportive and friendly staff team.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Eye Care Voucher Scheme.
  • Annual Flu Vaccination Programme.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.

Please read the job description and person specification carefully before applying, ensuring your application demonstrates how you meet the requirements of the role. Previous experience in a relevant role is essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
