King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Student Welfare Officer - Secondary to join our dedicated secondary support team. This is a vital role within our all-through academy, providing first aid care, supporting student health and safety, and serving as a trusted point of contact for student well-being.
About the Role
As our Student Welfare Officer, you will oversee the day-to-day medical and welfare needs of our secondary students. Working as a qualified first aider, you will respond swiftly and empathetically to accidents, injuries, and illness, while maintaining clear communications with families and external healthcare agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate first aid care and medical attention to students, staff, and visitors in accordance with academy protocols.
- Manage student health plans, medical records, record medical incidents, and medication administration with absolute confidentiality and care.
- Liaise with external medical agencies, emergency services, and healthcare professionals as required.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes overall student well-being and safety.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a confident, calm, and organised individual who thrives in a dynamic school environment. You will possess:
- Relevant medical training and a valid First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake advanced certification).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations calmly and professionally.
- A proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to work efficiently under pressure.
