SUBJECT LEADER/HEAD OF DEPARTMENT FOR MUSIC REQUIRED FOR MATERNITY COVER FROM JANUARY 2027-JANUARY 2028

PART-TIME (0.8) - SCALE M3-U3 (OUTER LONDON ALLOWANCE) +TLR 2C (£8,611)

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring Subject Leader for Music to join our thriving and successful Music Department. We are looking for a passionate practitioner with the ability to teach Music across KS3-KS5 and the vision and commitment to lead and develop the subject. St Mark’s is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school with excellent resources and facilities, a strong programme of extra-curricular activities and a real commitment to developing students’ musical talents.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our wonderful students in a caring, supportive and inclusive environment, nurturing a love of music, creativity and performance. You will be joining a diverse school community where excellent relationships between staff and students foster a culture of exemplary behaviour and a love of learning. Please note, this is not suitable for ECTs.

We are looking for someone who has:

Effective leadership qualities and a clear vision for the subject.

Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Music

The ability to teach Music from KS3 to KS5

High expectations and be committed to enabling all students to fulfil their potential.

Effective communication and organisation skills.

A willingness to develop their skills and help our team to develop even further.
