The posting

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a visionary and inspiring qualified subject leader of mathematics, who has a real passion for the subject and is capable of leading the maths team to develop young people into analytical, creative and resilient learners. The post would suit an outstanding teacher of mathematics (to A level is preferred) and the successful applicant will be given frequent opportunities to work with the leadership team, contributing to whole school development.

At Vyners you will join a well-established Mathematics department and become part of a supportive and aspirational team. Our Mathematics Department is hard working, committed and flexible. We are well resourced and have excellent ICT resources to support learning. Mathematics is a very popular subject at A Level with a high proportion of students continuing in the sixth form and a strong tradition of progression to Higher Education.

Vyners is a very popular and oversubscribed mixed eight form entry, 11-18 comprehensive school situated in a pleasant residential area in North West London, bordering Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We have a track record of real success at all Key Stages. In 2026, 79% of students achieved grades 9-4 in both English and Maths at GCSE and we are consistently ranked in the top 10% of all schools nationally for progress measures and attainment. At A-Level 25% of all grades were A* - A and 51% A* - B. The school converted to academy status on 1 November 2011 and is part of the Vanguard Learning Trust which also includes one other secondary and four primary schools.

We are well known for high academic standards, good behaviour, and our strong community spirit including a strong house system with students leading their peers. “Pupils benefit from excellent relationships with each other and with staff. They are well cared for and have adults they trust and who they can talk to if they have problems” (Ofsted, 2025). Many students are involved in extracurricular sport, music and drama, performing at a high level including prestigious public events and performing in our own school productions.

We offer you:

A well established and well respected Continual Professional Development program.

Creative opportunities and mentoring for continual career progression.

A friendly, innovative and exciting community in which to work.

A lively and supportive team of specialist mathematicians achieving excellent results.

A comprehensive and first class new employee induction programme.

An annual two day Staff Conference with excellent keynote speakers.

Excellent facilities including Interactive whiteboards, onsite gym, car parking and access to local transport.

As part of the Vanguard Learning Trust, we also offer staff developmental opportunities via the trust and support from other professionals in the same role across the trust schools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
