The posting

Required for January 2027, or sooner. Stopsley High School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, high quality teacher of Art and Design Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Stopsley High School initially on a one-year maternity cover contract. There is potential for the successful candidate to continue in a permanent role beyond the maternity cover period, subject to the availability of a permanent vacancy and the Trust's usual recruitment processes.

The role would be suitable for an experienced teacher or an Early Careers Teacher (ECT). The successful candidate will have experience in teaching Art or Design Technology. Some experience in teaching both subjects would be desirable, but not essential.

The successful candidate will be joining an energetic, experienced and highly ambitious team. They will demonstrate real enthusiasm for teaching Art and Design Technology, and a willingness to work to make an already established department even stronger with a full programme of CPD and ECT support available.

Stopsley High School has been on a rapid improvement journey which included academising in September 2021 and joining the Middlesex Learning Trust. The School has benefitted from collaborative networking across the three schools, opportunities to showcase best practice and access to innovative training opportunities. All of this hard work culminated in an incredibly positive Ofsted outcome under the new framework in June 2026.

There are a multitude of benefits to working at Stopsley High School, with Middlesex Learning Trust to support. Benefits include but is not limited to:

  • Access to fantastic facilities at Stopsley High School in our state of the art school built in 2016, including access to our fitness suite which is free for staff
  • A comprehensive New Staff Induction programme including a range of personalised CPD opportunities
  • A supportive staff body who enjoy working collaboratively
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing
  • Access to excellent teacher training provision via the SCITT within the Trust, based at The Compton School. SCITT has been graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in June 2022.
  • Career pathways and a strong history of promotion across the Trust
  • Opportunity to take part in our Talent Management Programme which has well-developed tiers to develop the skills of staff and prepare them for promotion within the Trust
  • Excellent public transport and road links to the rest of the UK and Europe

Applications will be considered for interview as they are received so early submission is recommended.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
